Lol should do fine? That’s your description of Kaitlyn Hord and Kayla Caffey. Interesting. Sorry if I missed a memo saying understatement is no longer allowed. My bad. No memo. You’re allowed to post it. Others are allowed to respond.

this is why Texas fans were confused and questioning why everyone was saying if Texas doesn't win this year it'll be embarrassing, etc. Nebraska and Wisconsin are LOADED as well. even Minnesota has a great shot as well if Wurcherer comes in solid and Landfair looks healthy. there's more than a few dark horses as well. Everyone for 2022? Did you think Texas was the huge prohibitive favorite against Nebraska last month in Austin? Texas had gaudy offensive statistics, well above Nebraska. But Texas didn’t have the preparation for the NCAA tournament from the Big 12 like Nebraska had within the Big Ten. Nebraska outhit Texas with a percentage that was high for them and much lower for Texas. Nebraska won the first touches to which can be from match to match. Against Wisconsin Nebraska was more a standoff on first touches but the Wisconsin defense(the Block) won the match against Nebraska. 24 blocks suggest a great tall and athletic wall and a offense easier to read the third time in a given season. This had nothing to do with Nebraska winning at Texas and everything to do with Nebraska was a very good team. As for 2022 - Nebraska and Texas were going to be the top 2 teams (on paper) going into 2022 before transfers. They will be the top 2 teams after transfers. They would have been the top 2 teams even if they didn't get their last transfer and went as was.

So, how did Texas manage to roll through consecutive matches against Penn State, Nebraska, and Wisconsin during the Spring 2021 tournament in Omaha? In the post-season the last 10 years, Texas has won more matches against B1G teams than it has lost, including a 3-0 win over #1 Nebraska in the 2016 national semi-final in Columbus. I guess by your logic, the ACC schedule did not prepare Pittsburgh and Louisville for their matches against Nebraska and Wisconsin even though both were super competitive and entertaining. Nebraska just served and passed better than Texas in the regional final, and had its 2 freshmen pin hitters put up their best offensive games of the entire year in the same match.

Against Wisconsin Nebraska was more a standoff on first touches but the Wisconsin defense(the Block) won the match against Nebraska. 24 blocks suggest a great tall and athletic wall and a offense easier to read the third time in a given season. A-So, how did Texas manage to roll through consecutive matches against Penn State, Nebraska, and Wisconsin during the Spring 2021 tournament in Omaha? In the post-season the last 10 years, Texas has won more matches against B1G teams than it has lost, including a 3-0 win over #1 Nebraska in the 2016 national semi-final in Columbus. B-I guess by your logic, the ACC schedule did not prepare Pittsburgh and Louisville for their matches against Nebraska and Wisconsin even though both were super competitive and entertaining. C-Nebraska just served and passed better than Texas in the regional final, and had its 2 freshmen pin hitters put up their best offensive games of the entire year in the same match. A-well, prior to the Spring 2021 tournament Texas played 14 conference matches in the fall of 2020 and another 8 matches prior to starting the Omaha tournament. The B1G played zero matches in the fall and an intermittent conference season that began in late January 2021. Due to Covid there were weeks without matches a not all of the teams played like Nebraska didn’t play Wisconsin or Penn St. No B1G team was prepared to play at a high level in Omaha in the 2021 tournament, it’s sort of shocking they won the matches they did. Texas and Kentucky reached the final mostly because they we’re able to play and train in near normality. Certainly the B1G was not prepared to seriously compete. In 2016 by the time Nebraska got to the FF in Columbus they were just a physically and mentally tired team. They were the defending NCAA champions but had not won the conference in 2015. So in the number one goal in 2016 was to win the conference, and after a grueling season they won the conference. Not a excuse, but a tired team and not a team ready to play Texas in the FF. B-from my view Louisville and Pittsburgh played at a superior level to Nebraska and Wisconsin from September to November and it was the conference matches that allowed Nebraska and Wisconsin to catch up prevail in Columbus. It was the high quality of the B1G matches that allowed this growth. This fall season had high level play coming from at least 10 of the 14 teams. I’m not sure that can be said of any other conference. C- Nebraska beating Texas in the regional final was not something that surprised anyone who watched the last handful of matches Nebraska played in the conference season including a narrow loss in Madison and just a thumping of Purdue in the conference final match. Imo, if that regional final was a two out of three Nebraska still would have won. They just play superior floor defense and passing. And after watching the match in Gregory I thought Nebraska was better.

Like usual you only see possible slights to Texas. Highlighted. Lol. Only comment on a portion of my post. Typical. I think Texas and Kentucky last spring were the two best teams, in a great final, but also from conferences that played in a full fall AND partial spring. The SEC and Big 12 representatives played at a very high level. But many teams, other conferences, in a stop and start fall didn’t carry over to smooth and high level play this past spring. Your last sentence made the most sense and the main reasons our 2 freshmen pin hitters excelled were higher level passing and a less stalwart Texas backcourt defense.

Am I obligated to comment on every detail of your post? Pretty sure I am allowed to comment on what I see fit. So, why did you only comment on a portion of my reply? What about in 2016? Did playing in the Big 12 hurt Texas' preparation for the post-season?

Personally, I think Hord to Nebraska is kind of funny. Can't wait until the meme "We all just want Kaitlyn to be happy" takes off next fall... We all just want Kaitlyn to be happy. We all just want Lexi to be happy. It’s good that there is a new Lexi in the Nebraska backcourt, and her happiness should be celebrated👍
