I’m just impressed straight up with Florida. Was unsure if they were deserving of their ranking in the beginning of the season sans Beason and Kelly but they don’t seem to need them at all.
Resurgences can happen! Someone tell that to Tim Walton lol

Y'all Dixon has been playing great. So much ish was talked about her not being the right pick up for this team, but she's the exact skill set and presence that we seemingly needed.
Martin and Hutson can obviously benefit from her experience being freshmen pins, but even Victoria and Essix haven't had to be the go to in their positions for UF (behind Hall, Ceasar, Markova, Kelley, Dooley, Forte for years) whereas Dixon has been a prominent starter and go to for her teams. You can tell she gives this young team confidence and is a calming/energizing presence on the court.
She came to UF with 1,383 kills, 35 aces, 386 digs and 195 blocks in 437 sets played.
She's picking up where she left off and then some.

I think my folks should come through okay, as should Gainesville, but, is it too much to ask, from now til the end of time, if big news is coming out of Florida, can it be Florida Volleyball winning at Stanford (in a sweep, no less), rather than a damn hurricane? Thanks

Thanks It's definitely been windy here, but not too bad. Not even any large limbs down in my yard (yet). Folks are south of Ocala. Brief tornado warning a bit away from them probably woke them up and freaked out the dog, sadly. Hoping to hit Gainesville for beer in October. Sadly, was there in May when it was graduation weekend, so no trip there then, for obvious reasons! Did have some Gainesville beer, though. Swamp Head has done a good job of getting Big Nose available at points south, and I will drink it if available! |

I'm so impressed by the way this team responded after nearly losing to USF. You could tell the defensive unit was not pleased with their performance and had a chip on their shoulders. They have the skills to be elite.
Martin, obviously, was amazing. Please stay healthy!
I was also very impressed with Hutson. She's clearly still settling in, but the future is bright. She passed just fine, made some smart plays when the set wasn't there, and was CLUTCH at the end of set 2 with a beautiful tip, transition kill, and slowed Kipp down with a great block touch.
Stucky is setting behind her like she wants to play for the national team with Drews and JT lol. It's beautiful how she can find Martin over there from just about anywhere on the court.
Sofia didn't bleed points at all and it seems that the coaching staff wants her to swing. When she and Stucky are on the same page, jeez can she unload.
Would love to see a bit more middle involvement (who wouldn't), but I'm liking where this team is at right now. Go Gators!

I hope the Badgers win in Gainesville, mind you, painful series history, in my first year following the Badgers really closely in 1999, Jenny Manz and company came to Madison and put the hurt on the Badgers. Still, glad good hitters came to Stucky and a good program, as they should! Hoping Beason's Badger beating ability, and she was great in Madison, does not transfer to Lincoln! Don't like the Badgers losing to Florida, but I can take it, really don't like them losing to Nebraska (hoping to improve on the 19-13-1 Nebraska series history this year, it was 19-3-1 Nebraska, though). |

On Gaby Cornier story it looked like Coach Boos jumped in the hotel pool after the victory, love that for him and the team. Love the way this team plays for each other. I don't know if anyone else notices but when their all on the bench during a timeout or in between sets you can see the reassurance everyone is giving each other. Hopefully we can get one if not both wins from Minnesota and Wisconsin. They'll be big RPI boosts and will set us up nicely for the tourney if the teams plays good during SEC play.
