Another hit up the middle brings a fourth run across to give Oklahoma a two-run lead at 4-2.

That walk spurred all the momentum. Really was a borderline pitch at best, but it was interesting how the batter wasn't even sure it was called a ball and didn't go down to 1st until told to do so. I thought Wichita State's coach might end up getting thrown out if she pressed the issue.

Wow, that was a great slide on the stolen base. I thought she was out for sure.

Yes, but it's worth it to point out she's probably the best #9 hitter in the country. Her career batting average is ~.350. Ridiculous.

Oklahoma breaks it open with a 3-0 3-run homer.

A three-run bomb to dead center puts Oklahoma up 7-2. It's going to be tough for Wichita State to come back.

(also) National seeds #14 Kentucky and #13 Duke just started and are playing elimination games against Northwestern and Western Kentucky. #9 Tennessee/Liberty will start pretty soon, and that should be a thriller.

I switched to the UCLA game and I must say, I remain utterly mystified by people who wear a mask under their chin like the UCLA batter was doing. What exactly is the point of wearing a mask and then not wearing it over your mouth or nose?
I guess I understand people who really don't want to wear a mask but are *required* to, and so wear it in some ironic way. I don't agree with them, but I do understand them.
I supposed the other possibility is that you don't want the mask at the moment, but you want to keep it available?

We would see middles often do this in volleyball as they only played part time. Sometimes they would put it under their chin, but I did see some middles keep it on the court. My favorite was watching a Seattle U volleyball match this year. One of their middles pulled a mask out, I kid you not, on camera, out of her bra and put it back on when she exited the match. LOL.

Don't look now, but Wichita State has cut the lead to 7-5.

Right, if you don't have pockets and are required to wear the mask at certain times, your options are limited.
Also, a 3-run HR brings Wichita to within 2 in the middle of the 6th.

WOW. Fresno State misses a HR by a couple feet - but they get the lead.
1-0 Fresno State leads #2 UCLA and a chance for more. Bottom 5th, runner on 2nd, 1 out.

In Seattle right now, wearing a mask would also be self-defense against the cottonwood.
