All the dopers have a story to explain it. *shrug*
Sucks because she was our best medal hope in the distances on the women's side.

Her coach just released a video. I turned it off about 3 lines in when he said neither he nor Shelby had ever heard of nandrolone. Come on, folks.

Yeah, I agree. It's very difficult to give any pro athlete, let alone in a sport like track, the benefit of the doubt for a failed drug test. About the only time I've ever been sympathetic was that Romanian gymnast at the 2000 Olympics because she was a minor.

Contaminated burrito. Well, OK.
Apparently she already appealed and was denied. Four year ban.

The "tainted meat from a food truck" excuse is right out of the Canelo Alverez playbook for failed drug test explanations.

The "tainted meat from a food truck" excuse is right out of the Canelo Alverez playbook for failed drug test explanations. Several track athletes have SUCCESSFULLY used that defense, so it must have been particularly flimsy.

I think my favorite excuse ever is still Bob Baffert claiming that the reason one of his horses failed a test was that a groom had taken some cough syrup and then urinated on some hay in the horse's stall, and then the horse ate said hay and tested positive.

LOL. A few years back a French Tennis Player got popped for cocaine and said it was from making out with a chick at a nightclub who was doing it. That's an "I didn't inhale" story if I ever heard one.

He actually got away with that lol A better one is an Italian player (sara errani) where her mom's cancer pills showed up on her test because they accidentally fell into tortellini she had cooked for her

Also, even in Portland, who the hell eats a pig offal burrito out of a food truck?

I think Errani got a year (not that she was playing at the elite level anymore) Would've been really bad timing in like 2012
