I turned it on just now. I don't understand everything.. who are the favorites right now to win the Team Title? Also, enjoy one of the best moments in the history of outdoor nationals, which prominently involved USC: I saw that one! Unbelievable. Poor Georgia.

God, this is a beautiful stadium. Such a shame we couldn't pack it this year.

Cockrell looked really strong in that heat.

Oregon freshman long jumper Alyssa Hickey had a terrible first two jumps and was in danger of not qualifying, but pulls out a 21-4 on her third to get through to the finals in 3rd. A&M, if they want to keep up with SC, needs more points from Gittens and Acqua here (6th and 7th going into the finals).
Cockerell is a beast, has been for years. Won't be sad to see her go pro lol

Georgia looks to continue its dominance of the multis, as yet another of their Estonian ringers takes the decathlon. Ayden Owens of Michigan was supposed to threaten but that was always a long shot.
Max Vollmer of Oregon completely tanks the 1500, coming in last, and drops from 4th to finish in 8th overall. That was about pre-meet expectations but damn guy, run a little bit.

Gunarsson of LSU takes the pole vault, as expected.

Women's 10K final is underway, which gives me an excuse to post my favorite moment from the 2019 outdoor championships:
Kelati had gone out to a huge lead, and Carmela Cardama Baez made a big surge in the last lap to catch Kelati in the final 100 meters, but Kelati was able to find another gear down the stretch and pull away to win her first individual title. The additional context for this is that Kelati had finished second after being run down in both the indoor 5K by Wisconsin's Alicia Monson and also at cross country nationals by Colorado's Dani Jones. So it looked like that might happen to her again. She would go on to win cross country nationals later that year by gapping the field relatively early in the race, and Monson had to settle for second.

Tara Davis had the best two jumps in the field and wins the title over Gittens, but that's still eight points for Texas A&M in the team race.

People are running to score, not to win. Chelangat will out-kick all of these women if they don't push the pace but no one is taking the risk.

If Chelangat wins this, she'll succeed Weini Kelati as both the 10K outdoor champion and NCAA cross country champion. Kelati turned pro in December.

Cardama Baez running pretty effortlessly. Maybe she has a chance? If it were a different runner I'd say Chelanga looks to start plodding a bit but she's deceptive that way and always bobbles a lot.

Looks like a two-woman race between Chelangat and 2019 10K runnerup Cardama Baez, who caught Kelati late before the Lobo turned on the afterburners.

It has to suck if the only airtime you get at Nationals is when the announcers note you're getting lapped lol
