17 open update semifinals: SAS over OCVC 352 over Bay 2 Bay . WOW! SAS over 352! i think i speak for everyone, no one expected that. Especially since BTB 17's have been the favorites going into the tourney. Regardless, congrats to them!

Really surprised to see no Bay or Mvvc in 17 open finals.
17 USA was a one sided beatdown with AZ fear winning once again proving that they are a solid Open team. Does anyone know why they did not play open this year?

Does anyone know why they did not play open this year? A beat down? Really? Losing in the 1st set when Cincinnati Attack loses their middle. I wouldn't exactly call that a beatdown.

Does anyone know why they did not play open this year? 352 17s showed some incredible talent toughness and perseverance winning the matches that were on the line after a very shaky start. And then beat Bay to Bay in the semifinals in one of the most entertaining 3 set matches of the tournament. Very hard to match that in the Final and came up short finishing second.

One sided beatdown, I wouldn't go that far. Nevertheless, Fear was the best team in 17 USA. Attack was a very good team as well. Both could have played in open and competed well.

Balboa Bay was utterly dominant in the 18 Open division going 11-0 and not dropping a single set. They took down hugely skilled teams in the playoffs, sweeping Sports Performance and MB Surf. No other team served and passed quite like they did. They may not have been the biggest or most physical, but their attention to the little details was unmatched. Hugely fun to watch and a deserved win. Heard a rumor that SPVB was without their starting setter and an outside was converted to setter for the tournament. If thats the case, making gold with an outside setting is a pretty good accomplishment.

Was anyone shocked on results for the Boys Junior National Championships? I followed a lot of 16 Open and there were definitely some "upsets" all week.
-630 made a great run!!!! Had what showed to be the toughest pool to fight through then had to play Sting again followed by Bay to Bay. Everyone knew it was Balboa's championship from the start but great run for 630.
-Rockstar was really dominant until running into A4. Wonder what happened when they faced Academy in day two.
-Academy beating Ocean Bay was a shocker? Academy struggled in their first pool along with their crossovers.
-Cinci Attack 17s made a good run in USA!
Midwest definitely showed to be stronger than given credit in every division.

Does anyone know all tournament team for 18s and 17s? Also, who picks which players are on that team? All tournament is a form filled out by coaches of the teams in the gold bracket due before the start of day 4. They list 3 or 4 players from their team. It is something like all teams that make gold get 1 player. Bronze teams get 2, silver 3, and gold gets 4 including MVP.
