Don’t know if this has already been posted but found it funny! You're way late. Pretty sure it's on the first few pages of this thread.

Don't hold your breath on the binding contracts, at least any with actual significance. Exactly. Negotiations fall through all the time, even when it's clearly in all parties' interest to reach a deal and even when the parties are sophisticated players. Usually they end up with an agreement of some sort but it's far from a certainty, esp if you only count an agreement that has teeth. One day later the biggest scheduling tweet was a report that USC and LSU have agreed to play in Vegas in 2024.

www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-expansion-league-wants-four-teams-with-focus-on-byu-cincinnati-houston-and-ucf-per-report/This certainly would be the wish list for the Big 12 going forward. Not sure they can get BYU on board, but I can see Houston, Cincy, and UCF interested. In terms of volleyball - obviously losing Texas would be a major hit. But adding these 4 teams would possibly make the conference deeper/stronger. BYU isn't that far off from Texas. Houston is on target for a T50 type year this year. Cincy and USF have been good over the past several years. I would love to see this for VB. This would probably be an improvement in basketball - or at a minimum would keep the B12 among the top basketball conferences behind the ACC who is clearly the best. Football - losing Oklahoma is a major blow. Texas really hasn't been much better/different than Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State. The potential new 4 are solid programs. Money - It was already a disaster with Texas leaving and there was no way of overcoming that.

They would have the worst TV contract of the P5 conferences, but they'd still be pretty competitive.

Boise State, SMU, Memphis and USF were also considered. Also, from the article:
