Hard to believe that she comes out of any match that they’re actively trying to win.

Wow… Guidetti clearly has a way of bringing out the best of his team at the biggest tournaments. Turkey looked pretty average at the VNL as a whole. I kind of figured their OHs would turn it on for the Olympics, namely Baladin. When I saw China was swept I thought it was gonna be one of those close sweeps, but no, it was the blowout of the Olympics thus far. I’ll watch the replay sometime but damn obviously a lot had to go wrong for China and a lot right for Turkey to get held below 50 points lol. Turkey just defended everything and it never felt like they were out of system. That’s sounds like such a drastic difference from the last time these two teams’ A teams played. Granted it was 2019 and Karakurt was an OH. I just remember in the IOQT match Turkey couldn’t defend anything and their libero sucked

Either way, I think Zhu doesn't look 100% (China wanting to win or not) That's concerning. and I was just mocking some VNL/past China match comments with that remark lol

One thing I noticed in the 3rd set during a time out was that the Chinese players' demeanor didn't show any sense of urgency. Kind of like they know its over.
Maybe they did give up, and is looking to future matches.

Hard to believe that she comes out of any match that they’re actively trying to win. Look at every olympics. China always plays down to the competition in pool play. As long as they finish in the top4 in pool play they are ok. It’s in the elimination round when they start playing there best.

They could care less as long as they finish in the top 4. Look at the last olympics. They finished 3rd in pool play and still won gold.

While it may be true they don’t care about pool matches, this match was genuinely concerning. They weren’t there mentally, like not one player played well.

China will have to “out-team” everyone if Zhu is out.

It was such an uncharacteristically bad performance for her, makes me wonder if maybe she has an undisclosed injury?
