The main problem with the international announcers is that they never discuss the most interesting parts of the history of the sport. Most importantly, they never discuss Kevin Barnett's time with the US National team from 20 or more years ago. Only one announcer focuses intensely on that history.

Interestingly enough, both Sunderland and Cox talked about how Karch deflects people singing his accolades as a player because this is a whole new arena for him and he doesn't want to players to focus on him but on themselves and the team. I am sure that if any one of us has the kind of credentials that Karch has we would be tempted to spring it on the younguns.

His commentary on the Argentina vs Brazil bronze medal match is so cringey I had to mute.

Kevin Barnett is ....
a tremendous asset to the game. He has done more to promote the game of volleyball than any of you turd-jugglers have.

Pretty sure KK's playing credentials are well know to his players by the time they get to that level.

I thought the gold metal match was Barnett at his best. Obviously, it helps when you have both the flair of the French, and a great match

Jordan Larson, the grand dame of this year's team was born in 1986. I think Jordan Thompson and Jordyn Poulter are the youngest. They were born in 1997.

Short memory possibly applies for "random" great players - KK is the indisputable GOAT as a player. That is different.

He’s a cocky jerk and terrible. Some of you just have gotten used to him because he has held on to his job far too Long. NBC can do better!
