I am so glad that I'm not the only one. I've tried to ignore it, but it drives me insane. I imagine the other women on the court are able to ignore it. If Miss Drews continues to play the way she has been, she can chew gum on the court, in class, during dinner, when she sleeps....I DONT CARE! Lol!! I agree. I can pretend that I don't see it in exchange for 20+ points per match. |

Minneapolis news just reported that Thompson will play. Whuuuut It would be great to have her an an option, but it seems like an awfully quick turnaround. I’d thought she’d be a maybe for the semis. |

This isn’t to discredit Thompson or Poulter but I think we should rest both unless we absolutely have to no need to rush Thompson back. I think we can take of the DR without her let her get healthy for the semis and Poulter

I'll take the reigning NORCECA Champions.  Although it will be nice to see Jordan Thompson possibly get an MVP award in Tokyo 2020. I hope it's a good match all in all. This could be the last major international match for some of the older DR players. Rivera, Marte are expected to move on. Valdez is about to be 40. Thank goodness the Martinez sisters are still young and so promising. Hopefully they can have as long of careers as some of their predecessors! Anyways, the knockout format of the Olympics are fun, particularly in a QF match. It's all down to winning one match, winning three straight to win it all. South Korea and Dominican Republic are big underdogs, but they're now just one match away from having a guaranteed opportunity to play for a Bronze Medal at worst. Make no mistake, this is a gigantic opportunity even for a huge underdog. DR has never medaled at any top-tier/top-group major international event (World Cup, VNL/World Grand Prix Group 1, World Championships, Olympics). I liked one of Kwiek's quotes after a big win: "Today we faced an elite team, it wasn't easy. We lack money, we lack structure, among other things, but we have big hearts." Punto Viva Viva! Does the DR have a legit shot at an upset here? I have to ask. well, last time both teams A-teams met... DR won Actually, at the 2019 NORCECA's, DR was playing without Castillo and USA played without Larson (she was on the roster but didn't play). It was kind of mixed.
