Nope. Not doing it. She was fine. She is neither Poulter or Carlini. Yea, but she has a gold medal.... And?

Yea, but she has a gold medal.... And? And she doesn’t need anyone’s approval here at VT

Apologies need to be made to Micha Hancock as well. She did a phenomenal job when JP was out of commission temporarily. Nope. Not doing it. She was fine. She is neither Poulter or Carlini. You’re obsessed. A fan at this point. Welcome to the #HancockHive!

How childish do some of you want to be. USA women finally win a gold medal and people are whining. Maturity level of a six year old. Unreal…

Congratulations to the USA team and staff.
My general thoughts:
Going all in on the VNL in the past has not always been the best way to cycle before the Olympics, this year was the exception, Karch identified its importance and deserves credit for that.
I think Karch was the 6/7 best coach at the Olympics behind Ze Roberto, Guidetti, Ping, Mora, Lavorini, Mazzanti, and Terzic, but he did the best job of managing the team during the last three months.
USA had the second best roster behind China. Brazil had the 5/6 best roster. They were badly overmatched in the final.
Historically, Italy has come up short in the Olympics, I don’t have an explanation for China. I will say that if this Olympics happened last summer, I believe China is playing either Serbia (with a healthy Mihajlovic) or the USA in the final.
I’ve said many times, the quality of training and competition the USA players get 8-10 months every year with their club teams cannot be overstated; especially in 2020-2021 with USAV dealing with limited training time this summer.
Karch after two quads is still not great strategically in crisis, they were only under real duress against Russia.
Overall, I thought the men’s side quality of play was much higher and more consistent than the women’s side.

Wait so Karch is 6/7 best coach, yet they nearly swept each team they played in the playoffs. You place other coaches higher although they underperformed. Just a month ago USA had no chance against teams like China, Italy, Serbia. The development of JWO at libero. The belief in Akinradewo to continue to start although having a tough vnl/early Olympics. Keeping Drews in when Thompson was back to healthy and keeping her in after a tough first set. Keeping Larson/Bartsch as starters who were both named best outsides in tournament. People hate Karch because they get upset on roster selection or his generic timeout speeches (without realizes the real coaching/scouting goes on in practice). But results don’t lie. His system won an Olympic gold yet he’s 6/7th best coach in your mind. Ok

Oh results can absolutely lie. I'm not saying Karch is not a good coach...although I'm also not saying he is a good coach. I have my doubts but am not as expert on the sport as others on here. But my comment here is you can win a championship and not be a good coach. Paul Westhead comes to mind, wins a title with the Lakers...career sub .500 NBA record.

Well this is the beauty of message boards. Everyone has a right to their opinion. But it cracks me up that people just can’t say “Good job Karch”! That team was on fire at the right time! Coaches have a lot to do with that. Oh well….

Paul Westhead was not a good NBA coach. He was gifted an extremely talented LA team (btw 60 of his 183 NBA wins came in that 79/80 season) Yes smart move moving Magic to Center when Kareem went down but he made a massive mistake next year in gifting the leadership and future of the team to Kareem instead of Magic Johnson..(wrong Alpha)...a battle in which he lost quite easily. NBA 183–224 (.450) WNBA 41–27 (.603) College (men's) 285–223 (.561) College (women's) 66–92 (.418) Karch since 2013 has close to a .850% win percentage and the team was 23-2 this year alone. Feel free to look at the massive amount of hardware the team has garnered under his leadership. He is a winner and tremendous leader and asset to the VB world let alone USA Volleyball.

Yeah, Westhead alienated his superstar to the point that Magic asked to be traded. That's going to get you fired in the NBA.

But he seems very dedicated and him crying at that interview gave me all sorts of feels. Felt gullible too? Dude's full blown autistic savant and not-so-borderline narcissist, crying's not part of his natural response. What an unfortunate thing to say. Be better.

I don't understand this. You say he is only the 6th best coach, but also that he did the best job as coach. Um ... what does that even mean?
