Using the first ranking from 10/20, and my Quality win Tracker to calculate ranked W/L record, here is a first guess at pool A and pool C. Matches thru 10/23. Pool A (Highest QWI team, ranked teams only)Tufts, Plymouth State, Endicott, MIT, Ithaca, Brockport, St. John Fisher, Stevens Tech, Rowan, Johns Hopkins, Juniata, Stevenson, UC Santa Cruz, Berry, Southern Virginia, Randolph-Macon, Calvin, Wittenberg, Ohio Northern, Wisc-Eau Claire, Chicago, Illinois Wesleyan, Concordia(WI), Mount St. Joseph, Wartburg, Gustavus Adolphus, Northwestern-MN, Trinity(TX), CMS, Whitworth Pool C (20 bids)1) Hope 2) Wisc-Whitewater 3) NYU 4) Emory 5) Colorado College 6) Wesleyan(CT) 7) Otterbein 8) Bowdoin 9) wisc-Stevens Point 10) Southwestern 11) Susquehanna 12) Scranton 13) Haverford 14) Springfield 15) Middlebury 16) Bethel 17) Muskingum 18) Denison 19) Eastern 20) Messiah 9 left at the table: Amherst, Babson, Clarkson, Desales, Christopher Newport, Mount Union, Aurora, Augsburg, Pomona-Pitzer Great job with this....a lot of volleyball left to play...if this does hold true, shows how unbalanced these regions are (after realigning hoping for more balance) There are about 1000 results/data points each week so with 1 week and then a much lighter playoff week, we really should know what to be looking at when we see this afternoon's rankings, if they actually rank the teams. BTW, realignment had to do with bringing all of a universities teams into the same regions, they wanted to rank similar numbers of teams in each region, and for VB, going to 10 brought the AVCA awards regions inline with the competition regions which mattered to a handful of school. At no point in the realignment process was selection day balance in volleyball a concern.

First published ranking was alphabetical order. Thought process there is that committees need results vs ranked teams column to make more accurate rankings.

North Coast
Denison Big Red survive a five setter against the mighty Wittenberg Tigers for their first NCAC Title in school history. That means that they get to host the Conference Tournament, barring any unforseen circumstances. Witt has hosted the last 14 NCAC Tournaments as the #1 seed. ---------------------- OAC Ohio Northern knocked off the Otterbein Cardinals in 4, and Mt Union took down Baldwin Wallace in 4. The Volleyball Godesses have smiled on us my friends, setting up a Saturday Title Bout between Ohio Northern and Mt Union on Halloweekend. Winner gets the one seed in the OAC Tournament.

North Coast Bracket
Day one predictions: The Wooster Fighting Scots send the Oberlin Yeowomen back to their safe space, then the DePauw Tigers maul the Allegheny Alligators.

BSU, Va Wesleyan, Clarkson and Williams are on the low end of the regional rankings and their post-season aspirations would benefit greatly from wins like they can get tonight.

Great match and a big road win for the Red Dragons and their CV if they were to drop the SUNYAC final at home to Geneseo or Brockport.
