Hmm it will be interesting to see what Pavan and Melissa do after this tournament. I'm not sure if they will be sticking together for Paris.

Just watched the ATeam / MHPavs match. I feel like this outcome was a combination of 3 things:
1) A post Olympic Gold letdown... both emotional and practice time 2) Rain. The further we get from an indoor environment, the less comfortable ATeam is. Lots of serve receive errors by both, lots of not great sets, lots of really off balance play. Anyone have an idea why April never decided to crank up her serve? Her serve was useless. 3) April fell back into a strategic mental block with how to put the ball down vs. MHPavs... a lot of low velocity placement shots that MHP got to easily, which we saw in the 2019 World Championships. (I think that was the one).

ATeam vs Russia in less than an hour!
$15k difference in prize money and a bronze medal on the line.

But the more it rained, the more the match slipped out of their hands.

ATeam wins the bronze!
21-8!!, 21-17
That was a serving clinic they put on display. Literally served the Russians off the court forcing them into all kinds of weird setting and committing many errors.

They just got a new coach, it would be really odd to split now I feel like the only way they split is if Sarah wants time off to start a family. When they’re at the top of their game they’re the best team in the world (over ATeam imho) and it would be incredibly short sighted for either of them to think they’d be better off with another partner.

I think it may also depend on Heather Bansley. If Heather decides to take time off and Brandie calls Mel, does she say no or does she stay together with Sarah?

Karla Borger’s serve is on fire today! Very wicked serve.
Germany 21-13 Set 1. That was a first set of their lives. Now if they can close it out in straight sets, oh my god, what a run they’ve had.
Sude is also outblocking Pavan.

Germany has been impressive so far.
Congrats to Germany! Very impressive run from the QF to the SF and the Finals. In all their last three matches, I thought they were going to lose… No idea what they had in their pockets.
Pretty disappointing for MHPavs who were undefeated until this very last match. But between MHPavs and Dudatha, who had a more disappointing season?
(I know Brazil as a country had a disappointing indoor/beach volleyball season in their standards.)
