she’s couldn’t pass at all and her defense wasn’t great either I only watched them when they played the USA. Oof. Well, I guess the new coach will shuffle things around until the best option presents itself. I've got zero faith in the new coach tbh

Was she really their biggest issue? I'm legit curious. Looked to me as Zhu goes....China goes. should've pulled zhu if her wrist was THAT bad. at least would have reached knockouts.
honestly there's no replays and the only thing i remember from tokyo was NOBODY being able to kill a ball... ya like that'll get you far in life.
if you do want replays, the olympics site has them olympics.com/en/olympic-games/olympic-videos

I've been rewatching the 2018 USA matches this week and why were we so bad?
I mean, I obliviously know why but....
WHY WERE WE SO BAD?
Hope we've learned our lesson about who not to take.

The bad news… they need to replace the two best kumbaya ers (Larson and Bartsch)

Her sets were just... yikes. And we'll, Lowe is Lowe, for bad or worse. MBH confirmed to be missing WCh? Bold of her to think I'm gonna let her miss two tournaments.

On one hand, it's good to know that USA's bad = losing two five setters in the round of six to be eliminated. On the other hand, USA was watching scoreboard just to make it into the round of six hoping Russia didn't get in. I think the Olympic Qualifier in 2019 had to have been some sort of a wakeup call too. USA clearly wasn't in its best state then and the libero issue was glaring.

USA really was coasting for awhile there, thinking every match was a given.

I think the 2018 WChs and the 2019 IOQT is proof that kumbaya wasn't the driving force of success for USA volleyball, rather, it was the combination of elite talent we had on our team that helped us win the gold at the 2014 WCHs and Tokyo 2021. It really doesn't matter if you have a group of besties that want to play for each other, if the talent isn't there they aren't winning.

But Poulter coming into her own and replacing Lloyd was obviously huge. And training up a talented young libero.
