I think the 2018 WChs and the 2019 IOQT is proof that kumbaya wasn't the driving force of success for USA volleyball, rather, it was the combination of elite talent we had on our team that helped us win the gold at the 2014 WCHs and Tokyo 2021. It really doesn't matter if you have a group of besties that want to play for each other, if the talent isn't there they aren't winning. form a circle, hold hands, sing kumbaya, and good things will happen

It really doesn't matter if you have a group of besties that want to play for each other, if the talent isn't there they aren't winning. I mean 2018/2019 was a huge slap in the face for Karch. Cutting Murphy, Lloyd, Gibby, etc. was overdue and necessary, but he also noticeably changed the USA system. Slowed it down, stopped sending all OOS balls super fast to the left, incorporated back row attacks, and in general, let our setters exercise more creativity and decision-making. |

I think it's pretty clear A/D will be BRA/CHN/JPN/ITA.
B/C is less clear, but guessing USA/SRB/TUR will advance.

I was looking for where I'd said something similar a couple seasons ago during the Italian league when I thought she just looked fantastic and was jumping higher than anyone else on the floor, but instead I found here where matte was trying to start up the Frantti Team USA train. Crazy how long it took some of you to jump on board!  Frantti?  Yes her  She can hit at a high point and her backrow skills are solid/improved. She will be the surprise of next quad IMO |
