This board needs more Tennessee appreciation. I ranked Tennessee at #7.

I see Pitt as really good. I don't think they quite as clear at 3 as the poll makes out, though. The top two are essentially tied, which is fair I think at this point. I can't pick between them.

Confused by the lack of appreciation for North Carolina 8-0 with win over Michigan. Unfortunate the other teams on their schedule have not panned out so well (High Pont, SFA, Colorado St, Michigan St, East Carolina) Roster with transfers Amanda Phegley, Nia Robinson, Megan Neelon; freshman Kaya Merkler and Mabrey Shaffmaster, Hitting 100points above their opponents, outblocking them 2.4 to 1.7/set I'll keep voting for them until they lose to make sure they get at least one vote weekly As a UNC fan, it is nice to finally get some appreciation after 4 years of dismal mess in Chapel Hill. Will be interesting if we go against Pitt with an 11-0 at home for first game to open ACC play, assuming we beat Elon, davidson, Charlotte this week. Their time will come. Until then I savor being 8-0 and not having a losing record prior to ACC play LOL

The ranges of rankings below the top 4 are really something. And posters here keep believing in the fantasy that this poll is better the AVCA poll. and we always wait to keep hearing this from you! thanks for your contribution with no rationale. yet, there's an entire thread devoted to AVCA poll analysis which highlights its flaws, which are many. No 'poll' is right, but, this is better than AVCA. Even at the very worst, the VT Poll Admins confirm when a team is accidentally left off a ballot (this does not happen when submitted to AVCA). Even if marginally, it is better.

Why didn't Nebraska drop? Respect for John Cook and corn syrup is such a popular sweetening ingredient.

It is very interesting to see how that conference plays out.

vballfan17 is a major contributor so it is moving a lot more efficiently due to his involvement!

Who else would you put at 3? Ohio State beat Washington but no one else of note. Louisville beat Purdue but went 3-2 with Arizona State. Even though the Cal Poly match was 3-0, the scores were -23, -21, -24 and Cal Poly is struggling to start the season. Washington lost to Ohio State and dropped a set each to Cal Poly, Iowa, Illinois, and Pepperdine.

I would have put them there, but they are well clear of Louisville by like 150 points, and washington by 200. I get their record supports the rank, but having watched Pitt, I'm not sure they are actually that clear of those teams immediately behind them.

Even if marginally, it is better. Rationale 1. There are typically very few significant differences between the polls. 2. There are plenty of the same "idiotic" votes in the VT poll that people like making fun of when the AVCA poll is issued. 3. The statement pisses you off.

It's expected from you, honestly. Trust me. Anyway, how significant differences should there be for it to be a better poll? That kind of logic confuses me. i.e If 5 teams aren't differentiated by 5 or more spots, is that the difference maker for you? actually - to #2, we can ask vballfan17 what he thinks about that, since he goes through literally every AVCA poll and sees ours. Even in football - I'm pretty sure Arizona was a 'mistake' vote in the poll as they haven't won a game in... god knows how many matches. I doubt someone confuses Arizona and Arizona State in the VT poll, while this has happened in the AVCA, like San Diego/UC San Diego, etc. But if anyone knows, he would!
