Sorry what was that, Karen? I believe the Karen would be the person who confused two different countries, and then is insisting their two-minute Google gives them more knowledge about the language of one of them than someone who actually speaks that language. That's prototypical “do your own research” Karen-ing.

this thread has taken a curious turn. The things people will argue about on the internet never cease to amuse me.

Candle : she’s Dutch but it appears according to Danish Census on name use it is a name used by Danish! An danish actress has name plus more See link: www.nordicnames.de/wiki/Puk... The point is.. it's not a Danish name. There are English-speaking people named "Dulcinea," "Esmeralda" and "Aristotle," that doesn't make them English names. A very small handful of people in Denmark named their kid after a Shakespeare character, and now it's on the internet on a German website written in English as a "Danish name." And then someone on a volleyball message board confuses Danish/Dutch and then tried to claim it came from Old Norse, and here we are. Dude. I certainly did not confuse Danish and Dutch. Just take a look and see that I said it was a Danish name BUT she was from the Netherlands. I am perfectly willing to agree that it's not a traditional Danish name, even if name databases say it it most often used for Danish girls. Like you say, sometimes names get imported. But You have jumped with no evidence to think I don't know the differnece between Danish and Dutch or Denmark and The Netherlands, and that's wrong. I grew up as a kid with Danish friends, and as I mentioned I spent a week in Den Haag. I also work with Europeans all the time.

Not that it's important, but my first post on this actually said it was a Dutch name. I was just going by her listed home town. Then I thought, I'll just double check, and came up with the info that the name was primarily used for Danish girls. So I edited my post to say it was a Danish name.
Obviously this was all my fault, however, for not being more careful and simply attributing the information immediately. I had no idea someone was going to get prickly about it.

Well, we know we will have at least a couple teams at 2-0 and 0-2. Not possible for every team to go 1-1.
Stanford/UCLA will have to provide a 2-0, and Cal/USC will have to provide a 0-2. All others could potentially end up 1-1.

The only really good coffee ice cream. When I eat ice cream I usually go with Haagen-Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip: ] Most Haagen-Dazs is good ice cream. Coffee ice cream is getting harder and harder to find. Some brands do coffee variations, but few do just straight coffee. And Haagen-Dazs is the tops. Not a volleyball post, you might say. But how 'bout the Terps?

I make my own gelato. My favorite flavor to make is honey/Scotch. Fresh-made >>> any store-bought.

On Monday I bought all the ingredients to make a batch of gelato. Then I broke my wrist. Now I don't think I can make it. Too many two-handed jobs involved. I am angry.
