I am not sure I can stand watching a replay but I guess I have to because I can't fathom how the team with maybe the best side-out weapon in college volleyball couldn't side out for the last 7 points.

I wonder what's Rettke's hitting percentage per set, overall? I like my chances better vs. her in sets 4 and 5 than in 1-3. But I don't know if the numbers support that theory.

just watched set 1 of the match. obviously, Wisconsin was making uncharacteristic errors, Hilley was a little off, and Robinson was not on her game (part of the credit for that goes to Maryland) but a lot of that was Maryland playing out of their minds. their defense was ridiculous and their pins were playing with no fear. Gomillion is a star and one heck of a get by Hughes.

OMG!... After watching the Miss St. win over Florida I saw this and thought this was another Bloodbath week in PTW until I just saw this match was not one of the matches in PTW. publius probably felt this match was too much a gimme and left it off. LOL You got it, vbprisoner . But I just expanded my next week's draft contest from 25 to 30 matches to accommodate the New B1G! |

Had to watch the replay. Lots of errors all around by Wisconsin but man did Maryland put on a defensive clinic! Not only that, they played with not one ounce of fear. I’m impressed and surprised.

I'd add that I don't think Wisconsin wasn't mentally prepared for the fight that Maryland brought. That's why Russ Rose always says, you can't take a night off in the B1G. I'm happy for Adam Hughes, he's a very good coach. |

I'm happy for Adam Hughes, he's a very good coach. Russ Rose knows you experiment & prepare in the non-con and then you come out in conference ready to do some bum-thumping! Sheffield wasn’t ready tonight. He was still playing with his new toys instead of putting out his best lineup and trying to steamroll the opponent. |

I guess this is just down to coaching - sorry Badger fans. But when you have Rettke, Loberg, Hilley plus arguably the best trio of back row players in the nation (Barnes, Civita and the Iowa transfer) you don’t lose to a team like Maryland.

What is a team like Maryland? I see an undefeated and obviously very underrated team that just took down Wisconsin. Was this a one time thing for Maryland? That remains to be seen; however, the Terps have had massive potential these past few years that just now seems to be capitalized on. |
