As we've discussed before, a sweep is "fun" for fans and players; and, yesterday's match was definitely not stressful.
But, in the long run, the matches where the players really have to work hard for the victory and have to overcome struggles and adversity (caused by quality play from the opponent) provide the more valued learning lessons.

Lol pretty sure you said when was the last time we ever seen a Texas setter straight down/stuff block someone, implying that the starting setter, Jhenna Gabriel, doesnt get any stuff blocks…but ok i guess Jhenna never has…not like there’s any infamous video evidence or anything… Most of her blocks aren’t stuff blocks though?🤨 and I hope you’re not referring to a joust as a block? So like I said where are all the videos highlights of Jhenna getting all these stuff blocks? Just admit you wanted to go out of your way to diminish the worth of Jhenna Gabriel and move on.

Holy crap you're good at being a butt. Child you can’t entertain everything that walk the earth😂 half of them can’t comprehend💀 I just believe there are two sides to this issue. I get identifying with a player and wanting to defend them. It's part of being a fan. But it's possible for people to believe Jhenna Gabriel gets short shrift and is unfairly criticized. It's also possible for people to believe that for all the positives Gabriel brings to the table, she's still 5'6, is abused when she's on the front row more than most setters, especially on top 10 teams, and that she's not the most outstanding when it comes to utilizing all her options from point to point, misdirecting a defense on where the set is going to go, or always putting it in an ideal spot for the hitters to have the most options. It's not like she never does ANY of these things, but it's not as consistent as other top setters I watch. I think it's possible for both sides to at least be civil, engage in conversation, without being dismissive of one another. I also believe we can all sit around the campfire and sing kumbaya while roasting marshmallows. There's going to be heated discussions on this board. For me, that's part of what it's for. But it's one thing for a poster to get into a heated discussion over something that they're particularly passionate about. It's another thing to see someone display the same dynamic repeatedly. I think it's fair to say I'm not a fan of what I've seen from babybacksets so far. So what? They don't need me as a fan. But if behavior isn't called out, people can't tell what's acceptable and what isn't. Being that dismissive of a legitimate point of view is not okay, IMO. It's not helpful. It doesn't contribute. The only person it's entertaining is ievb, which is selfish and narcissistic.

I’m glad you felt so strongly about the things said By little old to put all that energy into this paragraph that mostly said nothing. This wasn’t a difference of opinion, this wasn’t me obsessively stanning Gabriel. This was a poster saying something false and my calling it out as false. That aside, there is absolutely a lot of anti-Gabriel energy on Texas threads, same with Hames from Nebraska, Shaffmaster at Minny, it’s a bit of a tired theme to blame the setter, especially from people who have likely never ran an offense from the setting position a day in their life. I’m all for criticizing players for the consistency of their gameplay. But if you’re going to nitpick things that fall apart when scrutinized, i don’t know what to tell you. If you’re mad, stay mad. I’m not here to placate your emotions. You can have whatever opinion you want to have about me, neither of you are the gatekeepers of all things Texas volleyball. I’m just calling things as i see them.

Weird. I would be having happy thoughts if my favorite team had dismantled a team that had beaten them in the last two meetings.

Lol and several people proceeded in just telling me Austin is not AS anti-immigrant as compared to the rest of the state and criticized me for not knowing that. I admit that im probably reading too much into watching the lack of engagement with teammates when she returns to the bench and I’ll own that but please don’t pretend like an outsider looking in (which i said i was early on in that case) would ever have a good opinion about how Texas relates to foreigners after the past 5+ years.

Yea simply an opinion, which you’re entitled to, even if you’re dead wrong. Obviously there’s something about my words that bothered you to this point. That is unfortunate because that is never my intention, however i will RELENTLESSLY defend myself if called outside my name/ screen name and so far that seems like the ONLY thing you are capable of doing and then try and pass it off as some sort warped sense of smug self righteousness. You have only ever engaged with me with the intent to admonish me in some way. And I’m sorry but i don’t see why i would take you seriously, if all you’re interested in is talking crap.
