The circle is complete Maryland > Wisconsin > Minnesota > Maryland Eat my socks Wisconsin will be shaky on the road in BIG (Specially if down 3 starters) They started at Maryland with a front row: OH1: Freshmen OH2: Freshmen M1: Rettke M2: Freshmen OPP: Sophomore Remember Stanford in 2016? It's not certain, but it's good to involve the underclasswomen if you want to succeed down the line. UW has won two straight B1G titles. They would certainly be happy with another, but I think their real goal is an NC. It will be very hard, but it will be impossible without figuring out the best lineup.

Really impressed with Orzol's all around play. The Gophers relapse to poor tip coverage and passing was discouraging. Congrats to the Badgers, how the hell did they lose to Maryland? They were awful. Maryland is decent. Lineup changes they weren't prepared for and 18 SE.

I will say that of all the venues that I watch volleyball, Wisconsin line officials consistently steer calls towards the home team more than any other. You think Wisconsin has anything to do with who gets assigned as line judge? C'mon!

She is so good and solid in the back row, so it seems like she is a natural for international volleyball. I think she will be a better pro than college player. That would make her a heck of a pro player, from where her college bar is set. That said, once she is a pro, I hope she is great, and I hope she is for the USWNT too. And until then, as long as it doesn't interfere with the Badgers winning titles.

It was a much more focussed performance today, though there are some clear weaknesses that need to be addressed.

Hilley also had a good match. Her passers were running around a bit after the first, but she managed. 41 assists is a goodish number. Wisconsin hit .372 That has to be a record for Wisconsin vs Mn I sure hope so.

Grace still struggling but okay enough. Orzol is 😳 in six rotations. Complete difference maker when she's on. Grace came on pretty strong the last half of the match. Her problem is always getting started. She was hitting off the top of the block but I am puzzled why she hasn't learned to use the edges and still struggles to read the block.

It's the Donna and Samedy show.... Tell me again why these players didn't go pro? Very condensed version of what Rettke said about it: Uncertainty about COVID overseas (when Delta was worse there than here), and the chance to play in front of UW fans one more time

When she has been really successful against very good teams she has done that. But 0.300 isn't terrible for an OH, especially with the start she had today.

Demps came back in later. most likely a blocking change. Landfair was hitting like Demps wasn't even there, gave Jardine a shot. THey weren't using the RS all night for anything else There was a point in time - late second? early third? - when I looked up at the scoreboard and UW has zero blocks.

Blocking for the badgers was not good tonight, but it was no better for the gophers.

Boyer is going to have to step up on SR. I think she will.

Wisconsin hit .372 That has to be a record for Wisconsin vs Mn I sure hope so. Probably. Minnesota was not too good with Dieter and Gibbemeyer as freshmen in 2007, so a veteran Wisconsin team got a series sweep. Same in 2014 with a hobbled Santana and a young team. This has to be the best against a quite good Minnesota team. Livingston went off on them in 2000 in Minneapolis, and Maastricht in Madison that year, but they didn't have the balance to hit at that level.

Sameday is the shhhh…. Damn I really hope she thinks about national team She is so good and solid in the back row, so it seems like she is a natural for international volleyball. I was so happy to see Samedy in person one more time tonight. The angles she can hit are truly amazing.
