Feel terrible for Civita- we wish her our best after a being a program on the rise a few years back, Iowa appears to be on a steep decline … I "liked" the part wishing Civita the best. While I want to beat Iowa, I want them to win a lot of matches against others (not Iowa State, however, due to former Badger assistant loyalty in "neutral" matches).

For what it's worth, Iowa looked to me like a much better team than their record indicates. They have some good arms and played decent defense, especially at the net.
Badgers looked like they were in a bit of a "going through the motions" type of match, but still managed to hit almost .300 with Rettke having a pretty off night by her standards. It was good to see Orzol continue her high level of play coming off of last week with a double-double and over .320 hitting percentage.
I also agree with the previous comments that Civita didn't appear like someone who just suffered an ACL tear with her sideline behavior. Maybe it's a minor reinjury, but regardless, hoping for the best for her. Losing her and Hart for the season would be really damaging to any national title hopes.

Both Civita and Gregorski helped in warmups.

Prior to the match I had made a comment to the person I was with that Civita wasn’t wearing a brace, and that she seemed much more mobile than last week. Curious to see where things go from here, but am hoping it was just a minor tweak and she’ll be back soon.
You’d think if a player tore an ACL again the coaches/training staff would not allow her to be as mobile and free as she was last night.

We tend to think of these kinds of things as 'binary' - a bone is broken or it is not, a ligament is torn or it is not - but often there is a range of possibilities, or "grades" or percentages, etc. A "grade 1" strain or partial tear of an ACL might well not require surgery and you might have enough stability to not need a brace etc. And it will 'recover' on its own over time. Whether that's the case for Civita and "time" is within two months, I have no idea. With her history, I hope they are really cautious; while I love seeing her on the court, she's got another 60 years to spend walking around etc on that knee to think about.

Demps had a nice impact. Love the right-side, platoon with Demps and Jardine Blocking was not there. She's starting to hit with vision, but she's not Robinson.
