😓 we really miss Danielle. She was there tonight. Crutches and a brace that pretty much went hip to ankle. She was sitting on the bench during warmups, and Civita was her personal bodyguard, protecting her from stray balls and people bumping into her, etc. Hilley came over to say hi and give Dani a hug, and the body language was Civita saying "I'm not sure I can allow this...". It was pretty funny. |

im not sure. in my non-medically informed guess I would say yes, most likely Sheff said she felt her knee go out while jumping. Jumping up, not landing. That must’ve been a really freaking fragile graft. Explains why Izzy was basically eulogizing her on the radio postgame. This is low-key devastating. Wondering about Gregorski too. |

No "official" word on Smrek or Civita? Waiting for Demps to take off at some point. Smrek was fully dressed, and took part in all warmups; jumping and swinging, etc. She could play if she had to. I assume they're being extra cautious with whatever it is. |

Well since there has been nothing official, it’s not unreasonable to assume it may not be as serious as it appears (ie “season ending”)

There was a point - early third set? - when Robinson went down awkwardly and was slow to get up. And I though "oh, crap!" She rotated out right after, and didn't go to the trainers or anything, and looked OK by the time she got back in. But we were pretty close to finding out how ready Smrek is! GULP! |

There was a point - early third set? - when Robinson went down awkwardly and was slow to get up. And I though "oh, crap!" She rotated out right after, and didn't go to the trainers or anything, and looked OK by the time she got back in. But we were pretty close to finding out how ready Smrek is! GULP! I saw that too, and thought it was weird. Looked like something bad happened, but nobody on the sidelines seemed concerned at all.
Post-game radio had nothing about Civita that I heard. Who reported an ACL tear? Why was she dancing on the sidelines with no brace on her leg then?

I don’t understand why anyone would be surprised by the competitiveness of any of these games or the match. Yes, Wisconsin was always going to win the match, but Iowa has a number of B1G quality players. They are the 13th best team in this conference, and that should tell you about this conference. We’ll see how it goes. . . 🏐 Because, in Badger wins this season, Minnesota (+19) and at Illinois (+15) had been the closest point margins. Maryland beat them in sets and points, but no other matches had been particularly close in overall points. |

Yeah, I am not arguing that the Badgers were not off tonight, although I am glad they were able to grind out a sweep, just that it was closer than would have been expected. Iowa does have a quality win over Iowa State in an awful day for Cyclones fans, but, yeah, a get the win and move on day for the Badgers. |
