Purdue sweeps this match. Ridiculous that they did not sweep at Purdue and should have minus a couple odd decisions.

I have a feeling Purdue is going to play with a chip on its shoulder. ILL needs to play with an attitude! ILL in 5 Purdue is really steamed at that last loss to the Illini. I expect the Boilers to really increase the pressure in the serve/receive game ...  |

I expect the Boilers to really increase the pressure in the serve/receive game ... Purdue will have to perform like they did against Ohio State…with focus and a purpose. I forget where I saw it, but Coach Shondell was quoted with saying something to the effect that the team he saw that night wasn’t playing like how he knows that they are capable of playing. Purdue is capable of being great. But they need to keep that and be consistent. I understand that they are human and are college students. They have a lot going on and just happen to play volleyball for Purdue too. You can see it in their eyes and their swagger. I sure hope that Purdue can find their swagger again and play like they are capable of and show everyone how they are. |

Purdue sweeps this match. Ridiculous that they did not sweep at Purdue and should have minus a couple odd decisions. Last season in the final match of the B1G schedule Illinois defeated Purdue by a 3-2 score at Purdue. That was after the Boilers had won the previous night's match 3-0 also at Purdue. I believe the personnel is basically the same for both teams this season. So the Illini have a 2 game win streak going over Purdue. I hope the Illini open set one like they did vs. Wisconsin in their last match, and that we can sustain that level of play throughout the match. I look for a good tightly contested match. |
