Sorry I dropped the ball on getting nominations this week. I’ll make sure to put out this thread on Wednesday this week. All good. We can always recycle.

I can't remember Pressley's numbers but she had one heck of a weekend against Kansas (if you wanna do some Big 12). I'm going to reward AZ State for their win over UCLA. Their kills look pretty spread out so Snyder had a nice night/weekend imo. She automatically got my vote for POTW -- 21 kills (.375) on Night 1; 28 kills (.458) on Night 2 right?!? Who else has 49 kills in two matches at over a .400 clip? Insane numbers.

Gabby Waden from Mississippi State did! Had 18 kills hitting .366 against South Carolina Wednesday and had 31 kills hitting .581 against Ole Miss Sunday. That’s 49 kills hitting .466 average. She’s my vote for Player of the week!

Does quality of opponent have factor though? Kansas is rated higher than both SC and Ole Miss. Not trying to discredit Waden's performance - those stats are tremendous. and vs top 50 teams too.

On the contrary, Mississippi State at 50 RPI did that against #25 and #41. Baylor at #7 may be expected to do that against #15. Both ladies did tremendously well. I may be biased but I give the edge to Waden.

Waden as the right side for Mississippi State, which runs a 6-2 offense, only plays front row.

I think a slight difference that makes the choice complicated as well is that Waden had an extra set to get those kills. Waden was at 5.44 k/s while Pressley was at 6.13k/s.

Lexi Rodriquez is the best Libero who has ever played at Nebraska, and she is only a freshman. This weekend she averaged 5.0+ digs/game in wins against Penn State and Rutgers. this is a ban-able offense VT Five-0 Sorry, but JWO was a one time first team AA and one time third team AA. Her freshman year she was she was a good, and not any better, as a sophomore she was better but didn’t get much post season mention, as a junior she became an AA and was great in both final four matches. Her senior year she was really good but had a less than average national semi performance. She left Nebraska as a really good player. There were more people who thought she was headed back to the beach than to the indoor notional team. She did eventual find a place on the national team, but in 2018 and 2019 she was no more than an non-playing afterthought. Robinson was moved to L in 2018 and Courtney played most national team matches in 2019. JWO was never really in the serious mix. JWO even ceased training and looked into coaching opportunities at that point. After 4 months off she found a new urge to give her playing career one more try. And according to anyone willing to talk, when she returned to the national team gym, she was much better…and has continued to get better. The JWO that played in the Tokyo Olympics is not the same player who left Nebraska-she is 4 versions better. The JWO that played at Nebraska was never as good as Lexi Rodriquez is right now. Everyone can have an opinion, but take a look at the tapes of JWO in 2015 and 2016 and look at her contributions compared to what Rodriquez does for this team today. Rodriquez is a great player, I don’t believe JWO was ever a great player at Nebraska. JWO only became great in the past 18 months. So you can post your “ban-able” offense nonsense all you want, but as a Nebraska player Lexi Rodriquez is the best L to ever play for Nebraska. She will leave Nebraska far more decorated than JWO ever was. And if you want rank Nebraska Ls, Dykstra was better L than JWO was at Nebraska. If she had stayed at Nebraska JWO would have never even been recruited to Nebraska. 😏

J's senior season at Nebraska was one of the best by a college libero ever.
