Looking at the stats:
Lube 3-0 Piacenza Recine had a really solid match with 92/69 passing and 9-2-15 hitting. Stern got some solid minutes but he's a bit inconsistent. Zaystev was huge hitting 17-2-31. Simon didn't have the greatest offensive match, but was better in block.
Perugia 3-0 Padova Perugia won serve/pass as expected... Padova's serving was slightly better as the match went on but not enough pressure. My expectations weren't too high given the covid situation but still a bit disappointed at how messy Padova looked at times. Leon turned up the heat from the service line towards the end and I thought Rychlicki had a great match.

Zaytsev looks like he's back in form. This is a great thing for Lube's stability, as Garcia simply isn't there yet. I still doubt that Lube would be able to win Scudetto or CL though.

Trentino make quick work of Ravenna, 3-0. The first two sets were a bit close. Third one, not so much.

Verona take set 2 against Padova. Both teams have 1 set apiece now. I thought Verona served tougher overall, especially in the middle of the set where they had a mini run with Mozic on the line.

Mozic is NOT a player I would want to see get heated lol

Padova's passing unit is having a rough day, the lib especially.

The difference for Verona was definitely the block and their OHs had great offensive matches. They passed worse than Padova according to the stats but they did good damage with their own serve. Padova seemed out of sorts at times... nice win for Verona

🎶 This team is on 🔥🔥🔥 THIS TEAM IS ON 🔥🔥🔥 🎶 Porro has definitely improved! The location/timing with the hitters looks better for sure. The OHs for Milano were awesome (Ishikawa 62/23 passing and 11 kills, .500; Jaeschke 59/32 and 9 kills, .470). In general, very few offensive errors ... credit also to the good quality of first touch and blocking that has been solid for them all season long. Monza's ball control fell short, both in passing and setting. Their serve didn't really break Milano either, and hard to win a match when your team makes 18 hitting errors and the opponent only makes 4! I like their physicality, but their first two contacts are sus to me.

Woo, if you don't serve them off the court, they'll outplay you. It helps that Porro has options where he can evenly distribute the ball instead of leaning on just one player. I think Jaeschke and Ishikawa compliment each other so well. And they both play such good defense. Same with the middles. If I had one complaint about Milano, it'd be Patry's hair. Do something with it! Monza looked solid in the the first half of set 1 and then the train just went all the way off the rails. You're right -- that first touch was just rough and so was their defense.

Monza has been in an absolute freefall in the standings without Grozer - remember when they beat Lube in the SuperCup semis earlier in the year??? Very different story now
