5 attempts in 1 set versus 20 attempts in 4 sets seems pretty comparable. I actually didn't even watch the first set, so I didn't see Endsley play. But these are just not good numbers for her, and they are exceptional numbers for Bush. UW got beaten pretty badly in the first set, almost won the second set, and then did win sets 3, 4, and 5. I certainly am not saying Endsley was the reason the Huskies started poorly. Correlation is not causation. But it's just a fact that they played better with Bush than with Endsley. Again…that wasnt my point. Well, it was my point.

That is the most shocking thing I think I've seen in a volleyball match. Oregon was absolutely dominant in the first set, Washington got close in the second, but Oregon just turned up the heat and looked to be on their way to a sweep. Hard to figure out where/how/why the wheels came off. They went after Borup in serve-receive. I think you nailed it. These post-match Ulmer quotes from the UO VB website:

And here....just a little 5th set memory: 1. Reading down vertically for Oregon that spells "OWWWWWWWW." 2. Sianna Hougton did a BOGO!

Montana. State. To be fair I wasn’t even really trying to bash either of these teams but they both do have very serious issues that I think will be exploited in the tournament. You seem fixated. I don’t actually *hate* UW. It’s just fun to root against a team and I don’t have a real reason for it lol. UW fans don’t take it personally.

I did not say that. But you cant reasonably say 5 attempts is comparable to 20. Endsley had 2 errors…one of which was actually a touch the talented ref reversed her original call on. So the 2 errors should have been 1…and the 1 kill should have been 2…but that is not my point. BTW, it was a touch…I was there and everyone saw it but the ref on the replay. The other two “attempts” were defensive tips off of dieing inside sets due to poor passing. My original point that you jumped on was it was a quick trigger for her. I stand by that. That is hardly a fair chance, especially based on the way the rest of the team was playing. Emoni played well and am thrilled about that and the win! Just not thrilled they were so quick on Endsley. I faith in that kid based on last years success and role with the team that went to the final four. Honestly, I think the lack of a consistent line up is the reason UW hasnt found their grove yet. 5 attempts in 1 set versus 20 attempts in 4 sets seems pretty comparable. I actually didn't even watch the first set, so I didn't see Endsley play. But these are just not good numbers for her, and they are exceptional numbers for Bush. Correlation is not causation. But it's just a fact that they played better with Bush than with Endsley. Keegan did two things after the first set. Subbed in Bush and swapped OH1 and OH2. I think swapping OHs might have contributed to how UW played more than Bush/Endsley.

No amount of trolling or nitpicking can take away the high from that remarkable match.
My sympathies to Oregon fans. That had to be some serous whiplash after the Ducks domination for almost two full sets. Especially that OWWWWWWWW end of the fifth.

No way Robinson was gonna side us out after that, in that moment.

So painful. I couldn’t even look at this board last night. Kudos to the Huskies who really turned it up and outplayed us.
I wish this were an isolated occurrence but numerous times this season we have started strong and then let opponents back in (Harvard, ASU —even in the sweeps against penn state and OSU we barely squeaked out the third set) and sometimes when that momentum shifts it’s just too hard to turn it back. I don’t know if we get complacent, lose focus, or what happens. The lack of energy after the second set was just baffling.
Would really like to see us work on out of system hitting and setting — need to better those balls. Even at Oregon not every pass will be a 3 but that shouldn’t automatically translate to a throw away set.

For duck fans, did Ulmer make any adjustments after the third set or forth set? I am not familiar with the Oregon team and just wondering if there was any in-game coaching going on.

The 6-2 allows you to get six hitters on the floor. The downside is that you need six hitters:
Lewis (last three sets):
3. 0k 2e 7ta 1bl 4. 2k 1e 3ta 0bl 5. 0k 0e 0ta 0bl
2k 3e 10ta -.100 1bl
Needless to say, it is pass and hit.
