Have there been MVC teams (besides Loyola) that have been good of late? (I don't really follow basketball) UNI Drake Missouri State All of them have been respectable over the last 2-3 years (Missouri State has tapered off some). --- Seems like the MVC has been a launching pad for some institutions to get into bigger, more established conferences. Creighton left for Big East (2013) Wichita State left for AAC (2017) Now Loyola to A10 in 2022. With Belmont coming in, it will be interesting to see if the MVC pursues anyone else other than Murray State. I am hearing UT-Arlington and UMKC (god, please god no). I hated the travel from Terre Haute to Wichita and Omaha both. Those 9+ hour bus rides are rough. I was told many, many years ago (15 or so) by an Asst AD that UMKC's goal was to get into the Missouri Valley

I've never been comfortable with how they fit into our conference. "Our conference" says the interloper from the Big XII. Thank you for getting the joke.

It's a shame, because it was a perfect conference geographically. Don't see that much any more. MAC generally still is. MVC is starting to spread with the addition of two Tennessee schools.

I'm not sure how geographically sound a conference can be when it is named after a state from which it hasn't any teams.
