So not sure of the year it begins but these will be the teams left in the OVC:
Eastern Illinois, Morehead State, SEMO, SIUE, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UT-Martin, and Arkansas-Little Rock… woof that’s a lot of distance 😅 not as bad as C-USA though

Missouri Valley officials did a visit with Illinois-Chicago this weekend as well.
Rumors in the MoValley area (Indiana St. alum here) is that the MVC will take 12 schools to 2022 but is considering a second expansion to 14 schools.
There were talks of UT-Arlington, Kansas City, and even some small talk of Omaha in the consideration.
UT-Arlington was also talking to the WAC.

A look at how the B12 would split their divisions for Football. Not sure if they would do this for volleyball (or basketball). Does sound like Basketball will not increase the number of conference games - which would be good news for volleyball if they follow suit (or just increase to 18 like basketball). www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-engaged-in-plans-to-split-into-two-seven-team-divisions-beginning-in-2023-amid-realignment/Sounds like one of the leading ideas for divisions - then remove Texas and Oklahoma when they leave. Also mentioned an outside chance the BYU joins the B12 this fall other than Football. Would be kind of fun to have BYU and Texas in the same conference for a VB season and an even # of VB schools for once. I could see this as a no vote by Texas and OU unless the Big 12 starts to give some on the price of the buyout. |
