UCSB outplayed Hawaii at every position. Put all of that together and as a team, that's how Hawaii gets swept easily.
Sorry Wagoner.... she needs to be a DS. Let Leoniak get reps at OH2.

Hawai'i just lacked the energy to compete tonight, UCSB took it to them early on and never looked back! It's okay tho, this is a good learning experience and now they know what to expect the next go around. Looking forward to the next time they meet up. It was do, or die for UCSB, but not for the Wahine. UCSB play like it was do, or die, the Wahine did not. When these 2 teams meet on the Wahine Senior Night, with Wahine fans, even if it is small, it will be a very different kind of match. Not only will it be Senior Night, but the Wahine will be the ones playing like their volleyball season is on the line.

I thought someone said Johnson was out for the season. Can't be if she's on the travel squad. could have used her tonight.

Well, should be an interesting run down the stretch. I have the feeling that UH will have to win out to claim the BW Championship. Good thing the rematch will be at the SSC on Senior Night. Go 'Bows!

Yeah…Leoniak needs to be in the starting lineup. It’s two matches in a row that Brae hasn’t played well. Disappointed at Sky. Another matches with 1 or less block.

Well, that makes it a good, but not great, volleyball night for me. Hoping the Wahine bounce back tomorrow night, figure some things out, and set up a showdown to end the league slate in Hawai'i.

The BWC looks like it’s gonna have a solo bid to the tournament. Honestly I’d rather see UCSB take it and see how far they go. They look impressive for a young team.

The Wahine need to win out for the rematch with UCSB will mean something. This Wahine team needs to steady out, not be so Up and Down. It is up to the players to start steadying out. This Up and Down play is driving the whole coaching staff crazy. The coaching staff can only do so much, it is now up to the players to start bringing their "A" game to every match.

Good match. UCSB is what I expected. They were a team that was going to run a fast offense from their really good setters and use their balance to keep a team's defense off balance. I've watched them a few times this season and a UCSB fan can probably provide more detail, but this looked like the best match they've played by a mile all season. To put it simply, even against the other Big West teams, they rack up double digit hitting errors. Tonight, they only had 7 hitting errors, 4 in the final set. Can they replicate this performance again in Hawaii will be the big question. I think their coach is in the lead for COY, but I think Van Sickle is the lead for POY. UCSB's balance will hurt winning individual awards, but I could see a number of players on this team making all conference.
Hawaii fought through adversity and didn't give up, even in the 3rd. As mentioned by another poster or posters, Hawaii's weaknesses are playing into UCSB's strength. The block wasn't ready for the speed of the offense and trying to slow players down. Hawaii wasn't a tough serving team, but still got UCSB in enough passing trouble where you knew where the ball was going and the defense still didn't make a play. The biggest thing will be to regroup for tomorrow and head back to Hawaii for more practice. A loss can serve as a great reminder. They've been able to get wins despite playing poorly. Tonight showed that they need to step up their game and get ready for big matches. They did it against Cal Poly, so it was surprising they came in a little flat for this match.
Kudos to the Big West for somehow getting the Hawaii versus UCSB match as the last match of the season. Assuming neither team loses (which is not a given my any stretch), the Hawaii rematch could decide who gets the auto bid into the NCAA tournament.

Out coached and out played. Again Wagoner hits for bellow .100, seriously is she the best option at OH2? Our weak serving against a balance team isn’t going to work.

Wagoner plays hard. And she still does good things defensively and put some pressure on UCSB with her serve. She never looks to me like she is taking the night off, even if she has some rough hitting patches.
