big implications for NCAA tournament: recent committee reveal had Texas at #2 and Baylor at #8. in terms of strength of schedule, this is the last opportunity for both teams to make an impression with quality wins. if Texas wins both and stays undefeated, they are probably a lock for a top 4 seed. OTOH, dropping a match or losing both will make Texas's regional hosting much more contentious.
this is probably the last chance for Baylor's seniors (Pressley, Sedwick, Van der Mark, Bramschreiber) to make a lasting impression against Texas. They did get a win in 2019 in Waco, but went 0-4 last year in matches that were in both Austin and Waco. They'll come out and go down swinging. Keys are how well Baylor passes against Texas's extremely aggressive serving and how well Texas passes to get their middles involved.

As also a Louisville Women's basketball fan, it pains me to cheer for Baylor, but...
Go Bears. 😬

Manifesting 30 kills from Pressly and that Sedwick has a good match. Go bears!

I hope the ref from the UCLA match comes to call this one and watches Sedwick like a hawk.

I hope the ref from the UCLA match comes to call this one and watches Sedwick like a hawk. Jhenna and Sedwick are gonna compete to see who can get the most doubles

apparently Paul and Salima have the Friday match on ESPNU so we'll probably have the Baylor homers (John and Katie?) on Saturday on ESPN+

I don't think there's been like any discussion on this board of a possible Waco Regional. It's not the more likely scenario by any means, but it's very possible. If Baylor wins both -- they are ahead of Texas, and I'm not sure it's that close? Not only will they have a H2H advantage, but they will have more T25 wins (and more T25 non-conference wins if Florida can get in T25). Four T25 non-conf wins is definitely regional host caliber (especially with 2x Texas). OTH, A split is all Texas really needs to keep their regional hopes alive. Not seeing how a 1-loss Texas team is getting beat out by any combination of 4 teams.

Baylor statistically is the better passing team and Texas the better serving team - should be interesting to see which team's strength wins out. Texas is also a bit more consistent and is no contest better in the middle. But Pressley can just go off and take over a match and this time the supporting cast of both Harrison and Skinner helps her do that. Feel like they will both win one but I would not be shocked if either team won both.
