Huskies Look To Start New Streak Versus Arizona Schools

The Huskies saw their nine-match win streak snapped last Sunday at UCLA, with the Bruins now one game ahead of Washington atop the Pac-12 standings, and Washington (16-4, 9-3 Pac-12) is one game ahead of Washington State and Utah. 

Washington narrowly escaped with a win in Tempe in the first meeting, saving a match point before winning 17-15 in the fifth set. On its current win streak, ASU has beaten 14th-ranked UCLA, 18th-ranked Utah on the road, and 15th-ranked Stanford. 

Ranked Opponents Await Sun Devils In Washington This Weekend

ASU is currently on a five-match winning streak. Three of those five wins are against ranked opponents, making this season the first since 2018 that Sun Devils has defeated three ranked opponents in one season. The Sun Devils' winning streak is the longest since the beginning of 2018.

ASU is on a nice winning streak. They will be confident. WA however, will be prepared to get back on track after their UCLA slip up. I don't think ASU has the defense to handle the heavy arms of WA. If the WA block can shut down Isanovic, then WA will have no problem winning this. I say WA in 4.

Washington should play better at home than they did in DFA, and they still won there. I think they take it in 4.

This looks like a Dawg sweep because after last weekend they will be hungry. The only issue I see for U-Dub is their tendency to start slow.

I'm thinking this will be a hard-fought match with a lot of high level volleyball. ASU is on a nice five-game winning streak where they have dropped a total of five sets in beating UCLA, Stanford, Utah, Cal, and Colorado. They have a better road record than home record. Isanovic was AVCA Player of the Week during this stretch and has the ability to take over a match. So I'm not really buying the "Huskies will roll because they were stung by UCLA last weekend" storyline. They'd better be ready from the first serve. I'll be attending and watching how Bush and/or Endsley/Crenshaw do in the front row. And of course how our defense handles ASU's firepower.
