Just goes to show you that at the end of the day, you need your OH's to produce. Unless you have the world's greatest setter that can fling the ball around the court regardless of the passing, the quality of the production of the LS's is what is going to determine most matches. but Rettke hit .045 Has she ever?

So many people doubted Purdue without even considering their rough stretch of the season was without Hornung and/or Johnson. Since they have returned at full strength, this team is proving people wrong left and right. There’s a lot of season left, but I really hope recognition is given where it’s earned. Watch me say all of this and have Purdue get blown out Sunday vs. Minnesota… 😅 which matches were they without Hornung again? OSU and MSU? Osu, Msu, and she was barely in the Nebraska game. I don't think Jael was there either so the block wasn't as good. But that's 3 of the 4 losses when Purdue was hurt.

That match left a really bad taste in my mouth. Just an apathetic, disjointed effort. The whole energy of the match felt wrong from the start. Purdue just has their number. When they played in Nebraska they looked like an Olympic team. No one seems to want to Big Ten championship. that or everyone wants to win the Big Ten championship-- what a race this last couple weeks will be--

Just watched the match. Congrats to Purdue. Wisconsin is so skilled and such a great team but their play just looks stale to me. Possible trade off of the super senior year? It can be hard to stay motivated year in and year out but I give all those athletes credit for trying their best. One thing of note, while I think she’s great Barnes is a tad bit too extra for my taste.

I don't think it's permanent. We often see mid or late season dips in form from the badgers. They are college kids for chrissakes.
But I don't know how long this dip in form since the Nebraska match will last. If it's tied to Civita, who brings a real presence as well as many skills to the table, even missing an ACL, it could take a while to figure stuff out.

I’ve been wondering if this effect (e.g., staleness, or cumulative effect of years of grinding) has been a factor in performance of Husker super seniors. Lexi and even Lauren don’t seem to have exceeded (or maybe even quite reached) their level of play from last season. It has to be tough to maintain focus over many years.

The "dip" is two matches vs Purdue.
Maybe a healthy Purdue is pretty good. Simple as that.

The "dip" is two matches vs Purdue. Maybe a healthy Purdue is pretty good. Simple as that. Well, they haven't exactly looked terrific against Iowa and Northwestern either. Purdue is great, but that doesn't mean there isn't a real dip in form for the badgers. They looked a little better at times against Northwestern this weekend after a really rough start, but still not to the levels they can be. Still a little disconnected. There are some young players on the court so I guess it's to be expected.

It was against Iowa twice, from my point of view. Ugly matches that they won both of, anyway. Team energy is such an touchy and important thing. (Yes, Civita does make a difference.)
