What a great match! UCSB is a system team that wants to play a particular way. They fought so hard to change the complexion of the match and in the 2nd set were able to do so.
In my opinion, Hawaii will have to learn to serve tougher to take teams out of system and then capitalize on that.
BVS was phenomenal! Hopefully Amber will learn how to stay a little more even keeled emotionally so that she doesn’t have to work hard to dig herself out of funks as she is a fantastic athlete and budding volleyball player. I also enjoyed watching Ikenaga grovel on floor defense and adjust her touches in serve receive.
Most of all I enjoyed watching Lang calm herself down and put together a nice match! Did she go to BVS exclusively at the end? Of course. But until you know what’s it’s like to be in a big moment as a setter, then you realize how tough it is to decide to go anywhere else but to your big gun. Best of luck in the tourney, Hawaii!

If UCSB didn’t lose their games during conference play, it would’ve been a real battle for the champion ship. Wahine lucked out, but then again losing Coach Ang, JR, Hellvig, and Felicia was unlucky so maybe Hawaii luck was due Mary who’s Felicia? Lol |
