I know this year's Stanford team isn't "Stanford Stanford", but still, I'm thrilled. There's still an aura that has to be overcome and MN never beat Stanford until fairly recently and seeing them in the bracket caused me particular concern.

This means everything that this MN team could get a seed and live up to it. Now, hopefully they can have an above-average performance and then I think they have a chance to upset Baylor. But if not, still happy with the season.

That was a beat-down. Stanford plays did not look confident the entire night. Wonderful victory!

I seriously overestimated Standford's defense and serve receive. It wasn't great when MN beat them in Oregon earlier this year, but sheesh. Kudos to MN for keeping the service pressure on. Best match of Shaffmaster's career. Good placement (except for that gap set that didn't clear the net), a little deception, fast tempo.

WELL DONE, KILKELLY. She stepped up, as did Miyabe in serve receive. Stanford didn't hold back from the end line and the gophers looked ready. So nice to see Wenaas use the block on some of her hits. Samedy had a little pressure taken off of her and played a nice match as well. LOTS of block touches as well from our middles.

MN has a real chance against Baylor. Even without McGraw if the back row plays like they did tonight. I wish we knew for sure what the deal with CC is. If it's Covid, she would've had to have a positive test on Monday to be available to play next Thursday (10-day rule).
