Oof. I know Hawaii isn't where they've been historically and am not surprised at a Washington sweep, but that scoreline.

Iām sorry I have to add to this and I donāt really mean this is a bad way. Whoever rebuts the āon the declineā argument by bringing up 2019 needs to question their own sight in general. 2019 was one year. A year where Hawaii was fortunate to pull 3 PAC-12 level transfers to bolster their roster. How great it is that Jolie, BVS and Bailey decided it was right for them to go to Hawaii. They came playing a high level of volleyball and were no strangers to the level that a team like UW brings. This was proven tonight with BVS being the only effective attacker for long stretches of time. If Hawaii is going to be consistent year in and year out, they have to win big matches like this more times than not to look more attractive to the higher level recruits. I love Hawaii volleyball because itās where I grew up but I can love it and still be realistic at the same time. Stating that the program is āon the declineā is not a death sentence. Itās really where itās at. Robyn has done well but sheās not a magician and it will take time. Money is also a major issue and so is the isolation from the continent and the Big West. When you look at this match big picture, Hawaii tried their best but your best is only going to be what you know. They havenāt seen a Hoffman level attacker enough to know how to defend her. Nor have they seen that type of consistent service pressure and size. Please keep having faith because thatās what makes a fan/fan base special. But be realistic at the same time. I agree with everything you say and when I meant on the decline meant not what it once was. A shadow of it's former greatness. Times change I also agree. I'm not angry just disappointed that the Wahine (even though they're young) played so poorly in this match. It could have been closer. But then again Wahine didn't have the luxury of being able to settle down and work things out. They literally got slaughtered. Yeah, they're young but that's what happens when you meet a veteran team with top recruits. Need to also remember, Dave Shoji, did not leave Robyn much to work with. From here on out this will finally be Robyn's team. The players she and her staff recruited. So like it or not, there are steps to be taken. I truly believe Robyn is taking the Wahine in the right direction, back to being a very prominent program again. A Top 10, Top 20, program on an yearly basis.

Is UW this good? Is UH that bad? UW is good, they've been underrated all season long. They've been real sharp and focused especially the last half of conference play I would say that UW was especially that good tonight. They have had their ups and downs this season, but tonight was the best most consistent play that I have seen in years. Everything came together for them - serve, pass, setting, hitting (Hoffman was on fire!). In that sense, Hawaii ran into a (choose your metaphor).

Watched the match from my couch in Kapalua. Great effort from the Huskies. I can think of some small matters to nitpick but I'm not gonna do that. Just celebrate Claire and the rest of the team and wish them all the best against Texas.
I really believe this team is better -- by a significant margin -- than the team that made the Final Four eight months ago. But it's a different season and a lot of teams are better, including, probably, Texas. It will take a Herculean effort to beat Texas on their own court. I believe these Huskies are capable and I think Cook has them playing their best volleyball at the right time.

It will be interesting see what the out come will be like if, or when, these two teams meet again in the next two years. I am quite certain they will meet again within the next 2 year. I am thinking the out come will be much, much different when they do meet again.

Sometimes, a 15th ranked team plays a little better than its ranking against a 57th ranked team that plays a little worse than its ranking. I think thatās all that happened tonight. As many have said, COVID turned this into a major rebuilding year for the Wahine, and I think they made the best of it.

Well, the UW is the PAC-12 champion and a defending Final Four team -- and they looked like it tonight.
I am just now getting home because Dad and I went out to Delancey for pizza after the match.
