Sorry to be that guy but I'm going to say that PVA earned their bid rather than it was gifted to them. They played really well and were a tough team to beat (or in our case, NOT beat) I am sure they played well, it is just the shadiness of it all that I find distasteful and unethical. USAV can play whatever game they want, they make the rules and can bend them all they want after all. Does Coast get some form of advantage now if it is true they signed up with no intention of going just to give USAV a straight 12? This qualifier does not show up on Coast's schedule so it does appear they never considered attending. I guess I am getting too old to just look the other way and say anything goes or sh!t happens. Coast was, in fact, scheduled to go to MLK in KC. Nothing shady about it.
Bids are based on teams registered at time of the closing of registration. That seems pretty legit, given the landscape over the last several years. There have been many teams that have been unable to attend for various reasons, including Covid.

I guess a point for that could be made if COAST doesn't win a bid but gets an at large bid. I don't know if everything is as shady as you potentially portray it but I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time. A friend's daughter plays for Coast. That Tournament was never on their schedule. You are wrong, are you sure you are referring to the 18s?

Thanks for the clarification SC and for momentarily restoring my faith in humanity to not always be scuzzy.

Anyone know what filming service is partnering with Triple Crown? Hopefully none. Last year, the MVPCAST was an epic failure.

I do think PrepDig will fill the void left by PV. PD is just getting started and is better in some regions more than others but their scouts attend all the tournaments, including national tournaments and local tournaments. They take notes and take the time to know the players. Chris Fitzgerald is a volleyball junkie and puts a lot of effort into it. For anyone looking for specific info on club teams at all age levels, he’s a good place to start. If PrepDig wants to fill that void, they will need to restructure their membership. Right now it is $100 for one state, $200 for five states, or $300 for all states (yearly). For comparison, PV is $60 for 1 year, or $100 for 4 years. Or VolleyballMag is free (Now that I'm actually doing the research, I'm going to becoming a 'Sustaining Member' for VBMag now). Looks like PrepDig's been reading this thread. "Prep Dig subscribers will now have access to every article and ranking on PrepDig.com. Rather than a separate subscription for Prep Dig Iowa, Prep Dig Minnesota, Prep Dig Michigan, etc, all articles and rankings will be viewable. A monthly payment plan priced at $14.95 per month, and an annual payment plan at $99.99 per year."

But, good for them and good for those who subscribe.

Triple Crown NIT is a month away. With the lack of confidence (putting it nicely) in accurate info coming from prepvolleyball.com these days, how do y’all feel about those PV rankings being used as a legitimate component in determining the seeds for the tournament? www.triplecrownvolleyball.com/eventdetailsnit.htmlI have faith that TC is not putting much stock into the PV rankings anymore. triplecrown Any comment?

There is no filming service each team will do their own thing. The 13 - 15 Elite Championship Matches will be streamed on Triple Crown's Youtube channel, The 16-18 Elite Championship matches will be on ESPN 3 or ESPN U. We will post more week of the event. 12's will not be live streamed by us.

Just a tad disappointed that Florida Fest Girls 18s and Boys Bid Qualifier is not using a streaming service.
