Everyone wants to say they are Champions! USAV added a few more divisions this year, so they now have 7 division options. AAU has 5 divisions in their Championships. There is obviously a growing demand, so don't ever see the absolute top 36 (or choose any #) ever getting together under 1 roof to decide a true National Champion again. Open level teams (major clubs) are now entering lower divisions to secure that Nationals bid. There are 12+ teams per age group that will have National Champions in their social media headlines. Some clarify division, so go on with shiny objects get likes. Hopefully clubs don't sandbag. Typically a club will get the National bid as a safety net to ensure going GJNC's. After that the goal is to get the Open bid. But yes it cracks me up when a team will proclaim themselves as Champions but somehow forget to mention which division it was.

In my opinion, the most rewarding is the USAV Open championship because you have to qualify to play in that. Of course, that is the most expensive route because you have to deal with all the pay to play qualifiers. That's one of the things that's really impressing me with Tri-State. Two years in a row their 18's have picked one qualifier to go to and see what happens from there. They are two for two when it comes to qualifying.

Of course, that is the most expensive route because you have to deal with all the pay to play qualifiers. Perhaps only those parent's kids who have the resources to pay those bills can play in those tournaments. Does that mean it has the best teams? Probably not. The AAUs don't have the restrictions about your participation. Anyone can play that submits an application. There are also some pretty good teams that play in that, including many who can't afford the pay to play qualifier tournaments that the USAV runs. It would be kind of cool if the USAV and the AAU spent some of that money they earned from all the participating team's entry fees and staged a USAV vs AAU Open championship playoff. They may get some of their money back with streaming and admission charges. But I'm not expecting that to happen. Actually, it happens pretty regularly that teams will play both. I remember a few years ago, OTVA Felix (14s or 15s?) won the Open Division at the GJNC in Detroit, the weekend before, They had won the Championship at AAUs.

It is Given out by each region (Like SoCal) to the two highest ranked teams that do not have an Open bid. The USA is the Division under Open that can be won at a NQ. It looks like clubs laud the fact that their teams make the Open with a bid (in USAV).

An American bid was earned, but the team has been upgraded to an reallocated National bid! @northcountryregionvolleyball usavolleyball @ Vital Volleyball Club (VVC)MN Select beat Vital and earned a National bid and Vital got an American bid. NCR (North Country Region) later allocated another National bid to Vital. It all was moot however as both teams earned Open bids.

For teams that don't earn a bid, regions are allocated National, etc and at-large's. They can be earned at a Regional Qualifier, but for many years in our region (SC), they just went off of the season rankings. Then, all the trickle down policies still are in play.

I haven't heard anything. I'm curious to see if they use PVL/SCVA rankings to seed the 11-17s tournament coming up or AES.

SCVA bid tournament. SCVA used informal PVL and SCVA rankings to seed Red Rock Rave Okay, I would think it would be Current Standings for PVL and mixing in SCVA Current standings as appropriate. The Elite 48 play in PVL. Generally teams with Open bids do not attend.
