In Chicago, Houston Juniors, Sunshine, and UPVBC walked away with 17 open bids.
In Atlanta, Carolina Union, CHAVC, and MiElite all got bids.

So in Lonestar Austin Jr and Alamo are the only two with open bid correct in 16s? HJV blew it there.

Here are the teams still in the running for a bid in 17 Open at the 3 qualifiers this weekend. Lone Star: KC Power 17-1, Houston Skyline 17 Royal, and Club V 17 Ren Matthew all automatically clinched bids. The other 5 teams in gold pools are already qualified. Those 3 are all in the same pool but they already have a bid anyway. Big South: CHAVC 17 Black, Top Select 17 Elite, No Name 17 Doug, CUVC 17 Premier, and MiElite 17 Mizuno are all in the running. Windy City: Sunshine 17 LA, AVC CLE 17 Rox Red, HJV 17 Elite, UPVBC 17 Open, and Rev 17-1 Raptors are fighting for bids tomorrow. Yes Lone Star 17 Open was pretty drama free once the math worked out that all 8 were in.

Cannot wait to see where Gillian Pitts commits. I wonder how she is ranked among 2024 liberos? CORRECTION*: I forgot that she's always played up. I think she's a 2025. She's a beast

She's a beast That’s correct, and I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that she’s in the top 5 of libs in her class. I’ll have to look around to fact check that but

I mean, over pass kills are awesome and all, but most elite players can do that. I’m more impressed by the kids hitting over the top of blocks or around a triple block that can somehow destroy the ball despite those obstacles. Or with middles specifically, those that are crushing a slide. Most can pummel a 2 ball at this point. Haven’t seen many 2024 middles that can execute a slide well. " how is she off of 1 foot" is the most asked question I got when coaching 16's from college coaches about my middles. Second question was " how are her parents"

I agree with you in part and disagree with you in part. I think that Ayden Ames runs the slide pretty well. Even Favor is incorporating the slide into her game, she had kills on the slide this weekend.

At Lonestar 16s, Austin Jrs, Drive Nation and Madfrog had bids (Vision from CA also did but didn't make Gold bracket this weekend...still a great team). So everyone that made it to Sunday gold received bids: Alamo, TAV and Skyline.

Even Favor is incorporating the slide into her game, she had kills on the slide this weekend. That’s awesome! Hoping to see more of that across the board. Both of those kids are off the charts good and nothing to worry about in terms of them hitting slides. Favor has no issue elevating off one foot and here sheer power is pretty much unmatched for 2024s. Ayden is the difference maker on that team. That team is stacked but they are different when she plays and it's easy to call here a middle because of her size but she easily attacks from either pin and very comfortably slides outside or in the middle with no issues. They ran her on the right quite a bit this last weekend and it looked pretty comfortable from where I was sitting. Both are great players in different stages of their development, but I can assure you that it's just splitting hairs or nitpicking if we call either of them anything less than great. (I'm not associated with this team...just get to watch them play and play against them quite a bit).
