idk if this is new or not... but I see VNL passes are on sale for Shreveport or wherever it is lol.
All session passes start at $250 (with a $125 meet and greet pass option)
Weekend passes start at $195

Let's all be realistic here - USAV is about getting this hosted for the cheapest cost to them possible. We all know that. Lower your expectations folks.
Omaha would be outstanding for this... but apparently Bossier City has better freebies LOL

Too bad this doesn't coincide more closely datewise with the ncaa beach tournament which isn't too far away. I did a Great River Road road trip a few years ago ending at Gulf Shores but which was interrupted a lot by flooding and I'd like to do it again sometime. If the events were closer in time I'd maybe be a remote working nomad for a couple weeks. I'm not going to spend a month in that area, however. As another idea, AVP New Orleans is May 27-29, ending two days before the start of VNL.... might have to keep this in mind to see some beach and then indoor. Not sure even that combo makes it worth it though. AND....Bossier City is more than four hours from New Orleans. Calgary sounds more interesting actually.

Slightly off topic, but is the VNL challenger cup happening this year?

Philippines should be fun though. They probably have more USA fans than we do in America. That’s true.

question for my Canadian people: what would be the best city to host a volleyball tournament in? Toronto? Vancouver? now that I'm thinking about it, I'm still upset about Shreveport. Chicago like they did for the men would've been amazing. not Canadian but definitely Toronto. Cool vibe there.

Hello, im new to this board so hello everyone! Ive been eyeing up making a road trip to Shreveport for the weekend, because of the USA v Brazil and USA v Canada games and a few other good matchups. but it would be a long drive and a decent amount of money spent.
Is there a chance the top players wont be playing? Besides the USA, it would be a great chance to see players like Wolocz, Gabi, and KYK in person. But if the top players are missing it would be a big waste.

But if the top players are missing it would be a big waste. It depends a lot on the players' form and where their national team is. For example, I suspect Korea is preparing for a post-KYK cycle for Paris 2024 so that puts her participation in doubt. Wolosz is known to not participate in Polish NT events if the coach is not up to her standards.
I don't really foresee any particular reason why Gabi would be missing.

That's scheduled for May 21 I think... that'll impact the teams

I got all session tickets. Passed on the meet and greet.
Hotels are looking pricey so trying to find a discount before booking.

I went to the Olympic qualifying tournament in 2019 & here’s what I observed. There is nothing going on in downtown Shreveport! The whole metro area has punted to casino gambling as the main industry. So, if that’s your thing, cool! If not I’d bring a good book. Decent hotel deals will probably be available at any of the casino resorts or across the river in Bossier City. I did take said book & set up in the lobby of the expensive downtown hotel where all the teams stayed & just people watched with a few cocktails which was fun.

This schedule is confusing to me, are some teams playing twice in one night? Am I looking at the time zones wrong? Japan playing twice on June 2, Dominican Republic playing twice on June 3, USA playing twice on June 5?

It looks like its based on a single time zone (GMT). Japan is playing on June 1 here (at 8pm CT), but its June 2 in GMT. Whereas they follow that up on June 2 at 5pm CT, which is 11pm GMT.
