This is petty AF but I would love to see the Gophers end Barnes' career.

I’m not sure who is the better passing team on the season, but if they have a clean game like Stanford I like their chances

Are today's athletes allowed to receive cortisone injections? As a recreational weekly player decades ago I got a new lease on my swing after one. Less pain and more shoulder freedom. I can hardly imagine the stresses on the shoulders of these pin hitters who take thousands of swings in a season. If we're talking about some sort of "dead arm" inflammation or some such, playing anytime within, say, at least a week of an injection into the capsule/joint would be wildly irresponsible for anyone, and even more so with Samedy's pro prospects, etc.

This is petty AF but I would love to see the Gophers end Barnes' career. That's pretty petty. It's one thing to say you want the Gophers to win...no reason to have a vendetta about it.

Fun fact Barnes has never lost a border battle, hopefully the first loss will come tomorrow.

Man I like Minnesota chances if Wenaas and Miyabe come to play like they have been. I think we can all assume Samedy will bounce back.

This is a tough one. Badgers certainly have more firepower and probably the edge, but I think they also have a lot more to lose and I could see that “last chance” type pressure getting to them here. We’ve seen the Gophers be able to handle that pressure and stick it out till the end recently. Either way—I hope for a GOOD match with some good volleyball.

I thought about this for 30 seconds, I would hardly call that a vendetta lol. I think it sounds bad because I said "end her career," I mean because she's a senior. I hope she has a healthy, productive match and the Gophers are just better.

I hear what you're saying. I wish she could have just left no hurt feelings, but obviously some still there on both sides. I would also like to see the Gophers pull out a win. Not sure if it's their year though.
I heard that Cook said that the Elite Eight is typically the toughest match in the tournament. Why do you think that is?

Easy sweep by the Badgers. What a great draw they got.

Samedy had similar velocity issues in 2019. She has also had the habit of not hitting with a lot of pace early in matches. Once 'warmed up' she hits harder. Are today's athletes allowed to receive cortisone injections? As a recreational weekly player decades ago I got a new lease on my swing after one. Less pain and more shoulder freedom. I can hardly imagine the stresses on the shoulders of these pin hitters who take thousands of swings in a season. We rewatched "Seven Years in Tibet" this week: “If a problem can be solved there is no use worrying about it. If it can't be solved, worrying will do no good.” JAMYANG JAMTSHO WANGCHUK - Dalai Lama, 14 Years Old This. I was having flashbacks to 2019 Samedy. Was there ever an actual injury stated as the reason for ‘19? Or was it really just because she couldn’t connect with Miller. Anyway, Go Gophers! This Madison regional really is marking the end of an amazing era with players like Samedy, Rettke, Pressley and May. I’m so grateful that we get to take it all in.

Here’s to hoping Samedy is healthy for tomorrow’s game and we have a slugfest between two NPOY candidates

I hear what you're saying. Barnes has had a chip on her shoulder against MN since she decided to leave and sometimes looks manic out there trying to prove herself. If you haven't noticed it then I think you're not looking too hard. I wish she could have just left no hurt feelings, but obviously some still there on both sides. I would also like to see the Gophers pull out a win. Not sure if it's their year though. I heard that Cook said that the Elite Eight is typically the toughest match in the tournament. Why do you think that is? I won’t speak to hurt feelings or anything of the sort. But Barnes is just manic in general when she plays. She’s fantastic but personally not my favorite to watch. Her execution of her skills is so extra lol I do enjoy watching her do death drops after running 30 ft across to cover Rettke’s slide! It’s entertaining! And I’m sure Coach Cook made that comment because Nebraska has struggled the past few seasons to make it past the Elite 8.
