One reason Pitt got this far is that they finally learned that the Pete is a bad place to play post-season volleyball! They played Penn State in the Pete!

When they got upset in the second round two years in a row in 2018 and 2019 they played in the Pete. Usually they play in the Fitzgerald Field house.

because there’s approximately 4764356466 more Nebraska fans on this board than Pitt fans. People also love to jump on the “pitt is overrated” band wagon so that could play into it Will Kubik and Lund bounce back to their usual level? I've seen this mentioned a few times re: Kubik. Kubik's hitting percentage last night wasn't as much of an outlier as posters are suggesting. A little low, sure, but she's only hitting .207 on the season. She typically hits in the .100s against good teams. Not saying this to dog on her at all -- she's definitely the most important player on the court for Nebraska IMO -- but I don't think the Huskers need her to do better offensively to win this game.

This is a good point. I would however like her to cut down on errors/hitting in block. I know she’s getting some trash sets at times but if she can stay smart and keep in play and let our defense do it’s job I would be happy! Also I would love her to hit .500+ with 20 kills in a sweep lol.

This is correct. Kubik's most important role is as the primary passer which she's done a great job of. Now that the book is out on avoiding Rodriguez on serve, Kubik is the main serve receiver, and she's been doing a great job at it. She always racks up kills but then balances them out with a lot of hitting errors.

Rodriguez had a 25% GP on 8 balls. Teams serve Kubik, even though she was the best passer for the Huskers, to limit her offense.

Haven't really seen much of Pittsburgh other than playing Purdue this weekend, Nebraska leads 13-0 h2h. I hope the Panthers play their best game and hope Huskers remain cool and calm. GO BIG RED !!!

Age old battle between a higher ranked team who hasn't been there before and a lower ranked team who's got the pedigree and experience on the big stage.
I'll take Nebraska (shocker!)
