Collins at RS makes me feel so uncomfortable, she looks so uncomfortable in that position haha she did, especially in that NEB match last year when Cooney got covid…but to be fair her slides also look a little awkward (similar to what oldmanvb said above me). Things that I’ll be looking out for this season: Does Terry have a breakout junior season? Can she be one of the big names in the B1G this season? How much power did Nunge build in the offseason to put a ball down? She’s a smart hitter but was often very frustrated by her constant roll shots/tips Did our Middles develop a slide that’s effective enough? Not a question but an inkling that Barnes is going to be a big surprise and be a beast in the back row. I was definitely one who commented on Collins inability to run a slide. She also whiffed on so many over passes. She worked her butt off and was a formidable attacker last year, she had a good slide. Another year of work should make it even more of a weapon. She seems uncomfortable as RS. Same with Swanson. She was a non-factor offensively 2 years ago. Last year she was a consistent attacker. Excited to see what this year brings. Burbage will start with Bohm or Mosher as a possible sub. I hope Nunge make a jump offensively too. She had flashes of stellar play but at times her timing and roll shots were off. Raina is due for a AA season. Lets have the Raina in the Kentucky match all year round. Im excited for the upcoming season!

That was an awesome weekend to be an Illini volleyball fan! Glad I was there. Me too! The Marquette and Wisconsin games were the second and third I'd ever attended and have been hooked ever since. Glad we're less than two months away from the next one.

I was in Australia trying to follow tournament matches on a spotty internet connection. I feel I am owed another run to the final four.

I was then in Minneapolis the following weekend and that day was a much different feeling in the end! Still can't get over being up 2-0 and then losing 2-3. Still hear "Go Big Red" echoing in my head. Too many Nebraska fans. We need to get back and finish the mission!

I don’t think so. She was a freshman with DeBerg, Omazic, Cooney, vanDyke and Hollowell. They were the letter of intent signees the previous November. She may have been given a scholarship later when three of that class transferred and she became a significant contributor.

I'm going with somewhere around 6, 7, 8 - similar to last year. But it's tough to know since we didn't have spring games. Have we replaced Kuper and Cooney? Have the returning players improved their games? Have we improved our serve receive? I'm excited to find out in a couple of months!

I think Barnes will actually be an improvement at libero in all respects other than serving. Replacing Barnes may be a problem. Opposite is the big mystery. Swanson at the end of the year was much better than earlier in the season. Overall, if we improve passing I think we will be much better.
