Interesting, he follows a bunch of 2025’s. Others he follows who committed to other schools for class of 2024. Must have been other recruits ILL was interested in but committed somewhere else.

I just finished a draft version of our Illinois 2023 thread, as our conversation turns to next season. There'll definitely be edits forthcoming- hopefully no roster subtractions and maybe we'll even get to make some additions. Looking forward to hashing out all our offseason Illini volleyball thoughts with you all. The transfer portal is already open, we're only a couple months from two 2023 Illini freshmen arriving on campus, and the spring season will be soon to follow. Would have loved for our great graduating seniors to have gotten another tournament run in the Orange and Blue. Big thanks to Kennedy, Rylee, D Brown, Kyla, Ellie, and Jess for providing lots of awesome memories! It was a joy to watch that group compete and best wishes to them on their future endeavors!  |

I wish she'd stay. But I get wanting a change of venue and of course maybe she wants to further pursue academic/career goals somewhere else.

If TTA leaves Northwestern to go to Illinois… then as an NU fan I’ll be very, very disappointed. At least be like Stanford or Nebraska lol

According to TTA’s bio her major is biomedical engineering. Does Illinois have an engineering curriculum that may interest her and have a place for her? As opposed to Nebraska?

Ranked 17th best biomedical engineering program (don't know if this is undergrad program specific, graduate program specific, or entire program specific. Northwestern and Michigan ( TTA please don't consider Michigan...really cold there and vb program in disarray) biomedical engineering programs are ranked higher.) Tough season guys. I did not watch most of the games this season because it was just too rough to watch. I think Tamas needs to start recruiting harder, but I do not blame him. What teenage girl would want to go to a school that does not have even a decent facility. I think Holzman woulda have been an impact player (Gatorade player of the year) but we just could not keep her healthy. I think things would have looked different if we had a healthy Bruna, Ellie, Maddie, and all the other players that got injured this season. Crazy to see D Brown graduate, I watched her film while she was high school when she first committed. She is the last player that was on the final four team.
With that being said I am excited to see Mosher take over that setting position. The few times we ran a 6-2 she looked good setting and was having better connections with Terry IMO. This season also is all about the transfer portal. I'm hoping none of our players decide to leave and we are able to snag a few big time all around hitters. I know we will go after Anna Dixon (Mizzou) and hopefully that Burbage connection will bring her home to the Illini. We have a lot to work on this off season.

You are dreaming if you believe Burbage will equal what Cooney has done. Missouri was awful last year - and still her numbers did not compare to Cooney’s. So you are comparing a freshman on a sub par team with Cooneys? That makes no sense. Let’s see what our coaches do with her. Cooney did not really produce until her late Jr/Sr/5th year. The National team coaches think highly of her. Collegiate National Team. Mark this post please! I marked this post. Good call. |
