I did not go. I was in NOLA. I heard that we played at their place and lost 4-1 (they played an extra set). That it was close but just didnt win. Partly, the coaching staff doesnt have full personnel....due to players recovering injuries and our freshmen class and Niego are supposed to be big pieces and we dont get them until summer.
Right now, the only returning offense is Mabrey on the LS, Kaya in the middle and Peck on the RS. So Niki has been the other middle and Buckner and Swain have both been practicing outside and RS. Swain looks good as advertised....

Not too surprising - with Babic and Bostic coming in. I'm guessing a veteran setter is still on the transfer radar as well.
Mitrovich skipped her Senior year of HS and came to UNC a year early - then redshirted - never seemed to get her footing.
I'm sure she will land somewhere and be successful - she's got a ton of talent.

UNC schedule coming a little more clear in preseason:
UNC will open Aug 26th at Colorado State. Their first match will be UC Santa Barabara and the nightcap will be CSU. The next day they play NCAA Caliber UNC (Northern Colorado).
That's a good opening weekend test to show us where we are with so many new faces. CSU and Northern Colorado will be good tests.
Then...the next weekend...UNC will HOST the B1G/ACC Challenge and will face Michigan and Michigan State in Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill.

September 16th UNC will be @ VCU as part of the VCU Invitational. They could likely also face UMBC and ODU. ODU's program is entering its third season.

UNC has 4 of the Top 100 Recruits for the 2022 class coming in this summer. I could argue a 5th. This is per PrepVolleyball's updated Top list.
Of note...looking like this year's preseason is a little tougher than last years....gonna be some tests in very good CSU, Northern Colorado, Michigan, and I think a much improved MSU with new players and staff. VCU has had our number in the past with their veryyyyy big block.

Updated 2022 Class Rankings by individual:
North Carolina - (Mogridge-47, Bostic-58, Babic-69, Swain-77, Shea-104)
Couple notes:
Sadie Swift not being in the Top 150 is a surprise...she is going to make PrepVolleyball look clueless. Mark my words, she will be an impact player.
Swain played really well this spring for us, she played like a Top 50 player. I also expect Shea to be much better than advertised....
Rest I can see where they are. Mogridge was a top 25 player before her injury so she is working back to being fully mobile. Bostic and Babic will be nice to have 2 very comparable setters running the show. I think Maddy May could have been on the cusp of Top 150 but its hard to do that as a DS and esp when you started club in a ENC before going to Triangle.

Volleyheels10 - Have you seen these players play in person? Just curious as you seem to know a lot more than others as to how some of these kids are playing in club this year, and what potential impact they could have their freshman year.

Yes....I travel to all the big tourneys during club season. I have seen all of them play. Actually seen a few play in high school to. This is def a good class. Not as good as our #3 2016 class but has better upside and potential IMO. Still need some refining and polishing of their skills but if UNC is getting back on the national stage it will be with this group.
