Wow, Logan just finished her 4th season. It seems like just 2 years ago she enrolled as a 17 year old. Unbelievable I watched some of her freshman year game against Wisc. They lost but she announced herself to the world in that game, the commentators were like what she’s supposed to be a HS senior and Wisc has no answer.

I am looking forward to getting to see her for one more season. SHe has been among my favorite players to watch since she first stepped onto the court in that orange uni.

Sage is a Senior+ correct? This will be her last year of eligibility? I believe that is correct. 2018, 2019, and 2020 (covid year) at Utah and she just completed her “third” year of eligibility in 2021 so this next season will be her last. Changed Saige from Sr+ to Gr+. I realized that she has already graduated from Utah. So, she must be in grad school.

So do we know the scholarship situation? If Texas gets a transfer, does someone else have to transfer? Is there somebody not on scholarship that we know about? Scholarship counts/guess are listed in the recruiting thread.
This is where it's going to get very murky. Jerritt said after he announced that Molly was coming back for her next TWO years, "And with NIL, we're working with Molly to see if she can take advantage of that"
I thought it was strange to point out just Molly. But now I see it may mean that she gets a scholarship for Fall 2022 (senior year) and then they're going to work getting her an NIL deal which frees up a scholarship that would have been allocated to Molly's bonus-COVID year.

the entire team should get an NIL deal.
make it happen CDC

Yeah, I believe folks are going to be able to leverage the Clark Field NIL group for these weird, extra years. I'd love to see JE bring in Fleck/Hampton, plus another one of these P5 liberos from a smaller school. Other liberos on the board from: Colorado State, Michigan State, Mizzou!

I think there is someone not on scholarship that we do not know about, but with cabello’s transfer I think that opens 1 available scholarship. This is all the presumption that miller is not on scholarship. Brionne, Sydney, and Naomi freed up the three scholarships we used for Devin, Emma, and Marianne. One of these conspiracies has got to be right about either Jhenna or Molly not being on scholarship, and/or Madison transferring.

Isn't Parra a soph.? Didn't she not start until second semester last year or January 2021 due to issues with transcripts or foreign student issues? So she just finished her second semester? and this January she will be a soph.? I believe so. The COVID year was her first season and that season did not count towards eligibility, meaning she’s got 3 years of eligibility left after this season. We shall see if she takes her fifth year because I imagine in 2024, Mexico will be playing in qualifying tournaments for the olympics. They most likely will not qualify, but if they did, that would be a really short turnaround for her.

Well, Naomi wasn't "supposed" to transfer, so Devin/Emma/Marianne all had scholarships available prior to that. I imagine Gabriel won't technically be on scholarship this last year as this should've been her last year. With that, I imagine Naomi leaving leaves us with one scholarship available, maybe one more if Williams decides to transfer.

I understand that, but she was listed on the OP as a JR, and January 2021 was her 1st semester at UT and this fall was her second so January she will be starting soph academically and fall will be soph athletically. Is that correct? Regardless if she leaves early or not.

She will have her senior and super senior years after that, but where you are in the classroom doesn’t really correlate to where you are in terms of NCAA eligibility

She will have her senior and super senior years after that, but where you are in the classroom doesn’t really correlate to where you are in terms of NCAA eligibility What I have been told is the way the NCAA is identifying players athletically for the next 3 years is that spring season is considered a red-shirt/free year so it does not count against a year of eligibility. If a player were to get injured and missed a season in 2023 or 2024 then they would have a medical red-shirt and if they used all their eligible years could be in school 6 years because of covid year and injury red-shirt year. That is why I said she was a soph in January academically and in fall will be a soph athletically, or as you say a red/shirt JR. Either way she will have two more years after fall 2022.

Re: NIL. Can a booster just sort ‘gift’ a player tuition room and board? Maybe through a legit business or something, but it’s like... here’s 50k to ‘represent’ my law office or doctor’s office or something?

Texas does have rules about which companies an athlete can represent (i.e. no cigarette companies allowed)
