I am sure this has been shared already....just too lazy to go through the thread to verify. Who does Nebraska have opening weekend for the Fall of 2022? probably themselves during week 0, isn't that usually the red/white scrimmage? after that, can't wait. needing to schedule our trip to iowa for the match..... Reported to be Pepperdine, Tulsa, and Texas AM corpus christi

I get what he’s doing with ole miss and LBSU and all for the former coaches thing but meh

We’d love to see Texas but that’s probably not gonna happen. Ultimately selling out 8k and keeping the gate takes priority over a super aggressive non con. The team gets tested in conference enough and helping pad the budget for this former assistants without having a return game seems pretty logical to me.

I said I understand why they do it to an extent but it’s still boring from a match up perspective. At least we have Stanford Kentucky baylor pitt and Ohio state (this year) carry us with their non con schedules year in and year out

My slight annoyance isn’t with them

A stronger pre-season schedule would be good for television and for the fans. It might not be best for team development to play top 25 teams the first weekend. In the end, there is a good chance that over 1/4 of Nebraska's matches will be against sweet sixteen teams, something few outside the B1G can say.

Is Pepperdine looking to be good in the WCC this year? Yes. They are recruiting at a high level and will probably be more of a contender in the next 2-3 years. USD is pretty loaded with experience this season and BYU returns a solid team but I imagine Pepperdine to finish in the top 3 for sure.

There are no nights off in the Big Ten! Well….. there kinda is Assuming you're thinking of Rutgers? I was thinking about Wisconsin and setters today, and how it will be a new one this season after nine (!) years of only Carlini and Hilley. And that got me to wondering about setters other than those two who started/played in those nine years (I haven't looked it up, but MJ Hamill started a match vs Minn during the COVID season when Hilley was out with COVID, likely the only non-Hilley start), and a match vs Rutgers back in 2014 came to mind. Last match of the B1G schedule, at Rutgers, Carlini was apparently nursing a minor injury or some such, so with the conference championship essentially already won (IIRC), Sheffield decided to try to give Carlini the night off, and started Erin Juley. Rutgers hadn't won a B1G match, and you could count the number of sets they had won on one hand. Rutgers won the first set. For Carlini, there was no night off; she played the next three sets for the UW win. Try for a night off at your own risk.

But There are certainly multiple teams that are cake walks for the good teams in the big
