Agree. Also feel Maggie is just beginning to assert herself at OPP and you lose her in a 5-1. Maggie and Becca also compliment each other. It sure you’re really losing all that much. She is hitting .132 with just barely a kill per set. Orr is a very solid blocker and would probably provide as much offense and at a higher pct. I still think not having a true M1 who can kill the ball behind the setter is a big contributing reason they’re in the 6’2 Don’t need a slide if your Opp can hit a D ball👀 Just ignore me and my agenda to have Lauenstein play all 6 rotations. She’s just so dynamic.

i’m curious, does anyone have stats on lauensteins aces per set in the time she’s actually been serving? or an ace percentage? seems like she’s been serving really well it's under stats on the huskers website. This season she has 12 SA, 13 SE. 0.27 aces per set (best on the team). I know those state are there, but her .27 aces per set isn’t accurate because half the time she hasn’t even been serving. I’d bet she has closer to .5 aces per set in the sets she has served.

Ah I see what you mean. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think Lauenstein started serving during set 2 of the game against Stanford, meaning she's served in 21 sets. With 12 SA this means 0.57 SA per set.

I don’t recall if she served at the games between that and Stanford, though.

Hopefully someone can get the exact number - my guess is also somewhere around 0.5

Anyone know what percentage of the spectators were for Nebraska at Maryland? They sounded loud.

Alum Note
10/3/2022 Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week Megan Miller, Northwestern
She served to close out the first win for Northwestern against a ranked team in an away game, ever. When I think of Megan, I think of the 2019 set with eleven straight serves she made as Nebraska came from way back to close out the five set win versus Minnesota.

Here's the real question going forward for the team - Does the team stay in a 6-2 with the return of Hames? It seems obvious that a 6-2 with Hames and Evans is better than with Orr, but will Cook revert back to a 5-1. After the match vs. Maryland, Batenhorst showed signs of regaining her power while Krause faltered slightly. Cook seems set on keeping Batenhorst played, so it will be interesting to see if the 6-2 goes back to Hames and Evans or Hames to the 5-1 (with Whitney playing 6 rotations?). Lots of options moving forward.

The real question for next year is who takes Kubiks spot as the 6 rotation outside? I love Madi and the time she’s put in but I’m hoping she moves on after this year for the new wave of talent coming through. I could absolutely see a 6-2 again though with Reilly and Evans. But also wouldn’t be shocked on a Reilly 5-1.
