So straightforward. I'm jealous. of what? lol Of being able to rattle off who is on scholarship. I feel like it's a constant guessing game for Texas. People can have good ideas, but in the end it's just guesses. And now no one knows for sure. Only that apparently they didn't have a scholarship available for Choboy. And that came from a Nebraska fan.

Prefacing this by saying I could be misunderstanding but Knuckles letting it be known she wasn’t using Covid year opened scholarship for Choboy.

So Choboy would had to come out of pocket to go to Texas? Others have assumed she wasn’t as interested in Texas because they couldn’t offer full money (4-4) but we all know what assuming gets us… Heaven forbid they were equivalent and she just happened to prefer Lincoln to Austin.

Lol I’m pretty sure it was a Nebraska poster that shared that info

Interesting. Wouldn’t have figured she would have taken an official there if that part wasn’t equal.

The amount of access Nebraska posters have to what’s going on inside the Nebraska program dwarfs what Texas posters know about what’s going on inside the Texas program. She wouldn’t be the first player to prefer Nebraska over Texas. There’s a long list. But Texas is going to get their share, too. Both places are high in demand destinations for volleyball. I wouldn’t sweat losing any single recruiting battle if I was a fan of either program. I don’t, in any case.

Yeah no shade on either program. Players have plenty of reasons why they make their choices. Wouldn’t figure it was a matter of scholarship on this one. Someone said they didn’t offer a full cause they didn’t have one. And that’s probably why she chose Nebraska. Not sure why she would make official to Texas if that wasn’t addressed ahead of time.

It may have helped Choboy in her decision of coming to Nebraska as she has already played with everyone else who are in the NU '23 class. Also Choboy has played with current freshen Allick & Mendleson on the USA team. Also according to what was in this Omaha World-Hearld article is another thing that stood out for her is the genuine chemistry of the team.

Also according to what was in this Omaha World-Hearld article is another thing that stood out for her is the genuine chemistry of the team. I think this is where the transfer portal is a disadvantage for teams when it comes to chemistry. I would imagine that it's hard to generate deep-level chemistry when a team has several if not more transfers coming in. Especially if they are "one year left" transfers. Not implying that there isn't chemistry, but I would think that there might be more chemistry within a team where teammates know each other from playing together on U-(insert age here) teams. With reference to Nebraska, I think the chemistry within the team runs deep because they have several in-state players that played together (high school and club) or against each other at some point. Not to mention last year's freshman class (Roddy, Orr, Grey, Batenhorst, etc) formed a bond playing together in said U-X team, etc. I think Choboy saw that immediately, and wanted to be a part of that. No offense against Texas, but they relied heavily on the transfer portal to build their current team, and maybe the chemistry doesn't run as deep as it does at Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc. Just my 2 cents.

That has to be a huge part of why she chose Nebraska. That as well as great tradition and most of all, I am sure she wants to continue playing for the National Team. Nebraska has a pretty strong record with the Liberos.
