Also according to what was in this Omaha World-Hearld article is another thing that stood out for her is the genuine chemistry of the team. I think this is where the transfer portal is a disadvantage for teams when it comes to chemistry. I would imagine that it's hard to generate deep-level chemistry when a team has several if not more transfers coming in. Especially if they are "one year left" transfers. Not implying that there isn't chemistry, but I would think that there might be more chemistry within a team where teammates know each other from playing together on U-(insert age here) teams. With reference to Nebraska, I think the chemistry within the team runs deep because they have several in-state players that played together (high school and club) or against each other at some point. Not to mention last year's freshman class (Roddy, Orr, Grey, Batenhorst, etc) formed a bond playing together in said U-X team, etc. I think Choboy saw that immediately, and wanted to be a part of that. No offense against Texas, but they relied heavily on the transfer portal to build their current team, and maybe the chemistry doesn't run as deep as it does at Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc. Just my 2 cents. I see this same kind of pablum often from Nebraska fans. There's no issue with chemistry on the Texas team. Be proud of your school and your program. It's deserving of it. If it helps you stand up a little straighter to think your program has more chemistry than Texas, have at it, but it's a fantasy you're creating in your head to make yourself feel a little better about yourself. Texas is going to win future recruiting battles against Nebraska. I can absolutely see myself popping off about how it must be UT's greater chemistry that allowed it to happen, even though I won't believe it for a second.

dsuhornets.com/sports/womens-volleyballJust watched the video of Delaware State reaction to hearing they're named announced on the Sunday selection show, and then their reaction when they find out they are playing Nebraska. I love it! They look so excited and happy to make the tournament, and playing Nebraska. Is this the modern day, volleyball version of Hickory High vs. South Bend Central? I know if I was in the shoes of those girls, I would be nervous and excited at the same time. To play Nebraska in front of 8,000 fans? I would imagine that playing in front of that many people is going to be so new for them! I'm personally going to make sure I say hello to as many Delaware State fans I see in attendance tomorrow as possible!

Of being able to rattle off who is on scholarship. I feel like it's a constant guessing game for Texas. People can have good ideas, but in the end it's just guesses. And now no one knows for sure. Only that apparently they didn't have a scholarship available for Choboy. And that came from a Nebraska fan. One season (2022) equals "constant"? Rarely has Texas had a roster larger than 12 players (where the DS non-scholarship walk-on wasn't obvious) in the last several years. Nebraska has typically carried rosters larger than 12 players with several who were not 4-year scholarship players.

Texas is going to win future recruiting battles against Nebraska. I can absolutely see myself popping off about how it must be UT's greater chemistry that allowed it to happen, even though I won't believe it for a second. I never said there was an issue with chemistry on the Texas team. Far from it. If you noticed in my original post, I said "No offense against Texas, but they relied heavily on the transfer portal to build their current team". That is a fact. It's not smoke and mirrors. It's a fact. And you know what? There is nothing wrong with that! And then I said "maybe the chemistry doesn't run as deep as it does at Nebraska, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc" meaning that the aforementioned teams MAYBE have a deeper level of chemistry because they've had more time together (less transfers than a school like Texas). Contrary to popular belief, not all Nebraska fans (or any other fans, for that matter) have it out for Texas. I respect the team. I respect their fan base. I respect what they put on the floor year after year. I may be new here and all, but I have NEVER said anything negative about another school. I never have and I never will. I can't speak for the rest of the fan base that supports Nebraska, I can only speak for myself. And in my original post, I was nothing but respectful to Texas. Hell, I could have used San Diego as the example as they have a ton of transfers this year like Texas! So with that being said, I don't need to say or do anything to feel better about myself. You don't know me. I don't know you. I would never presume to think that you are creating a fantasy in your head to make yourself feel better because you feel stronger about Texas or any other team compared to Nebraska or Stanford. Never. It's people like you that make me cringe at posting an opinion and thought that I have in a thread dedicated to a team I support.

Says a lot about the positive reputation NE volleyball and NE volleyball facilities have with SA's in the sport, cause it's not the weather they are excited about.

Nah she wasn’t. That was a ranking she got when she was like a sophomore in HS and even at the time raised eyebrows.

I saw Kubik was ranked by PrepVolleyball.com as the No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class. I know there are 50 of these lists. Volleyball mag didn't have her in the top 5. But they didn't have Hudson in that top 5 either. All the rankings prove is what happened in HS/Club. Things change in college, one level gets you to the next opportunity.

Speaking of "lists" and publications, which one is the most reputable? Which one do most people use as the benchmark for rankings and such?

What would make Nebraska the best host ever? Giving the Hornets their first NCAA Tournament victory.

Alright y'all, I came here to ask about scholarships since people keep mentioning Nebraska in the "Transfer Portal Tea" threads. I was going to search to see if this info was already discussed but searching this thread for the word "scholarship" still nets 37 pages of results. 2022: Hames, Hord, Kubik, Knuckles, Rodriguez, Batenhorst, Kubik, Krause, Lauenstein, Allick, Orr (unused one/Anni) 2023: Rodriguez, Batenhorst, Orr, Krause, Lauenstein, Allick, Kubik, Jurvicius, Murray, Choboy, Jackson, Reilly I thought Anni was given a scholarship this year. www.1011now.com/2022/04/12/waverly-alum-anni-evans-receives-scholarship/
