I'd imagine she'd at the minimum be a serving sub (for Allick) I'd imagine whether or not she'd see the court would be is her defense enough of an offset for a smaller block and one less attacking option. Idk if there's an answer to that. the lingering back(?) injury to Hames was obviously a big one. much lesser vertical now than before. sucks for sure:/ even if Akana doesn’t ever get the libero jersey at texas, I guess it was a worthwhile transfer? just glad it worked out for everybody in the end. hate that knuckles doesn’t get to see her senior season through. I still hope she takes her fifth year somewhere, even if that doesn’t seem to be the consensus. Akana transferring to Texas for the libero jersey: was that the sole reason? Or was it just more playing time in general than Nebraska? With that being said, is Akana getting more playing time this season at Texas vs her playing time last year at Nebraska? I've wondered that for a while now. |

She’s gotta get those eyelashes reinstalled No, she has to get rid of that black hair!! She has been Ill since before the Wisconsin match, which isn’t 6 matches but certainly didn’t help. Sounded like she had only practiced once since. |

With the Covid year, she had a third unpaid year of eligibility. She only had one year promised remaining. She wanted to compete for Libero, Nicklin was moving to DS and they were already messing with a 6-2 in the spring. All that gave her pause about staying in a limited role that she’d clearly outperformed. So she enters the portal, gets what she’s looking for from Texas and that’s where we sit today. |

Akana's serve alone would have kept her on the floor for the Huskers. She just had 7 aces in a sweep the other night!

Akana's serve alone would have kept her on the floor for the Huskers. She just had 7 aces in a sweep the other night! You can't run a 6-2 AND sub in Knuckles AND sub in Akana. Something would have had to give. I don't know which it would have been, but something would have had to be excluded. |
